Bad luck, mostly.
Didn't you know about the tennis thing? I was really *quite* good. Just not *quite* good enough. I played Johanna Konta and Laura Robson on the junior circuit. Jo marmalised me in straight sets the only time we played. 6-3 6-2 or something like that. Let's never speak of it again.
Fortunately, I had the foresight to have a back-up plan. Less exciting but no shortage of work...
