Danke dir!
Nein!
Iconic Star Trek actor Sir Patrick Stewart has died, aged 86. RIP. https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cq23dve8dgv9t
@nixCraft
First Walter Koenig, now Patrick Stewart...
I've been binging TOS and TNG lately - maybe I should stop before someone else dies?

"To investigate the connection, researchers analyzed data from 87,577 adults who wore wrist devices equipped with accelerometers. The devices allowed scientists to measure participants' exposure to light during both the day and night. Over a median follow-up period of 8.1 years, 741 participants developed dementia.
The results revealed a notable pattern. People exposed to average daytime light levels exceeding 1,000 lux (a moderately bright light level equivalent to an overcast day outdoors) had a 16% lower risk of developing dementia. Spending longer periods in even brighter daytime light (at least 5,000 lux) was associated with further reductions in risk."

I should note that the dyes in Jolly Ranchers are also fluorescent under visible light, which is why their colors look so bright.
@janellecshane whoa. I used to eat those things. Am I radioactive? 😬
slop isn't just a product, it's a process and a mentality too.
Today, we are bidding farewell to Discourse. Thanks to everyone who kept it going over the years!
@flathub congrats, good decision. 😎
Tor Browser 16.0 is out for desktop and Android! 🧅
Our first stable release based on Firefox ESR 153 brings redesigned settings, optional generic window titles that limit what other applications can learn about the pages you're viewing, a refreshed Android interface, and native support for Linux ARM64.
Behind the scenes, our annual ESR transition audit reviewed over 270 Bugzilla issues to protect Tor Browser users' privacy and security.

A brilliant project from you all, with some good news. Thank you for your fantastic work. 👍🎖️

After Embarrassing U.S. Ambassador Meltdown, UN Votes to Lift the Embargo on Cuba
"After he [Waltz] cited a Miami Herald report that had been debunked multiple times, he repeated the often-told lie about Cuban doctors being enslaved, which has also been debunked by world leaders from Jamaica to Italy.
Waltz’s entire speech was centered on the false reporting by the Herald, which undermined every other talking point. The Cuban delegation continued to call for a point of order as Waltz repeatedly lied.
Representatives from dozens of countries spoke on behalf of lifting the embargo; the U.S. Ambassador embarrassed himself"
