My new #NetBSD install is underway right now. I didn't want to do manual partitioning for encryption, so I just did a quick and dirty sysinst. Applications are going on now.

And I have a wired Ethernet connection (to a wireless bridge).

I will try to daily drive this one.

I am so frustrated and disappointed in almost everything that I once held in high regard when it comes to tech.

A few days ago, we found out that LibreOffice is using AI, even after they said that no AI is a feature, and just an hour ago, I found out that @Tutanota might be using AI, as well. And that's right, you guessed it, they've said in the past that they are not using AI.

I'm going to wait until we hear from Tuta on this subject before judging too much, but if they don't clear this up, my very long time premium subscription will end. I stayed with Tuta over the years for many reasons but the most important is their stance on AI. Or, well, they're marketing stance on AI.

I'm so tired of recommending tech to people and then being shit on by that tech company.

Tuta, please clear this up. I know that I'm only one person but I've recommended you to so many people and think I deserve a response.

Did we really expect action against bad things from the so-called leaders who let WILDLY BLOODY OBVIOUS asshole behaviour happen without consequences?

@stux I think what bothers me most is every time they come up with a scam like that and it fails, they just move on to a new scam. The stuff going on with scamming that LLMs are "AI" is just the new crypto and some of it is even just the same people doing the same stuff again.

If you’re a corporate programmer, TeX is worth studying closely because it is like something from another dimension:
- you can take a math paper written in the 80s, typeset it today, and get identical output. Try that with a random C or C++ program and Clang
- the TeXbook is one of the best manuals for any piece of software ever. Compare that to your README.md
- a second book “TeX: the program” lays out the entire source code side by side with detailed explanations and cross references. Note that all of the code *fits* in a single book. Compare that to your million-line codebase with no comments that nobody understands

I work with a guy who plays sax and told him about this, and I thought I lost it in my recent harddrive crash, but I found the original recording on an SD card.
