For folks with any mobility impairments I highly recommend requesting wheelchair service at the airport. Don't suffer and push through the slog of getting through security and the gate if you don't have to.
I don't know about most airlines but Alaska's wheelchair service is free and super super helpful.
@fluffy I hear great things about Alaska Airlines in general. You Seattle people are so lucky to have that option.
WordPress 7.2 Beta 2 has arrived for testing, with more refinements to the admin and developer tools. This beta adds more work to the Abilities API, DataViews, and DataForm. Try it in WordPress Playground or another test environment, keep production sites on a stable release, and report what you find. https://wp.me/pZhYe-5H4
@stux tried two times in a row just now. Still the same issue

Every OSS project maintainer I hear from is like "we can't ban AI because it's an unenforceable policy. There's literally no way of knowing whether something is written by AI" and every OSS project contributor I hear from is like "yeah, contributing is really miserable because I'm so busy reviewing this PRs and every single one is so obviously AI"
I made a tool, https://fedijar.com. It is nearly impossible to find something you have seen on your Mastodon timeline some days ago. So I decided to scratch my own itch and made Fedijar.
It’s a paid service, since we need to pay for storage. You can try it for 14 days for free.
Not another vibe-coded tool. It’s made with my own stupidity! I enjoyed reading up things, making silly mistakes and all things on the way.
Hope some of you find it useful.
@pacman I'd prefer the theta as I believe the others don't shoot RAW files, that's a big decider for me. Also, I forgot I could just link directly to all my publicly available 360 panos https://kuula.co/profile/AbandonedAmerica
@AbandonedAmerica "...I could just link directly to all my publicly available 360 panos https://kuula.co/profile/AbandonedAmer..."
Superb !!! Thanks.

New Maps with data from October 25
Our latest maps with OpenStreetMap data from October 25 are now out. You can press “check for updates” in the app to see them and start downloading them.
Just in time for the 2026 State of the Map Latin America conference that is kicking off tomorrow in Mexico City. If you’re there: Say hi to our contributor Bastian, listen to his talk about CoMaps, and grab some stickers! 🇲🇽
Next up in Linux's bootup process might (if compiletime-enabled) be static-calls!
A wrapper grabs appropriate locks, checks its only called once, logs any errors, & registers callbacks to trigger this to be dynamically called.
After validating there's work to do the inner logic sorts the static-calls table (via a helper & callbacks) & iterates over each "site". For each site it sums the call's address, checks if its an init routine, checks if the key's changed, & calls CPU-specific code.
1/3?
It uses helper routines to sort those entries (with callbacks), get the site's address & key, & 2 of them (by checking ranges) to check if its an init routine.
If it is an init routine a helper finalizes the key & sets a bitflag.
If the key has changed it updates a local, ensures it knows the module, allocates a site-mod propagating any failures, (via a couple helpers) validates a bitflag & returns the other bits of the other bits of the `type` property, & populates a site-mod or 2 to hold it.
Want to collect some thoughts: What are some ways you would say life is better now compared to 25 years ago?
Replies and boosts appreciated <3
@jonah Most stuff is dirt cheap, if you don't mind second-hand. And I mean really cool stuff like stoves, TVs, clothes, shoes.
@teajaygrey Been wondering whether solargoths and lunarpunks overlap and how much.
"Solardarkwave" as a word sounds like there's been a solarstorm that has muted electric communication. Just wondering whether acoustic is antithesis of darkwave or not...
I dig the imagination behind a solarstorm and muted electric communication being synonymous with "Solardarkwave".
To your wondering: I know @zanias@mstdn.social has performed an unplugged/acoustic version of one of her tunes.
e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUwb9UwnJ0E
Original version with drum machines and synths (and the guitar clearly going through some sort of reverb FX pedal or processing): https://zanias.bandcamp.com/track/chrysalis
Presumably, there are others? That's just a recent example which comes to mind.
Given that I am a selenophile, I'd love to know more about lunarpunks; I don't think I've encountered that term before!
@matt @whitequark yes, i get that. i'm often asking myself, "am i just becoming conservative?" but i don't think it can be simplified like that. my focus, for now, is really quite narrow and concerned with making "works", or "art", and i'm trying to find a frame for my own works in that category rather than a commodity/automation/effiency category. i don't really subscribe to anything as being (un)natural, but rather trying to find useful axioms that can anchor my experience in reality.
@ajroach42 what's a bind box?
is that "blind box" as in no idea what's in there?
@shapr oops, yeah. I'll edit.
Okay. If the LibreOffice promotional posting about their "keep AI optional so people can do office stuff without it" stance was persuasive to you, and you gave them money, you have been defrauded. And you should demand your money back. And we should all be ever more skeptical of carefully-worded "nuanced stances."
No money for quislings.

No I'm not feeling old right now, why would you say that, shut up
@jalefkowit this is me in 2003 if that helps 😂
the correct version of libreoffice to use now is an old one
it's remarkably stable software and the ODF format is fine too
dunno when the slop started showing up. but for now run 25.08 I expect, that was the last version before TDF went really fuckin weird
Everything is on its arse and we're going to hell in a handcart, Hot Wheels edition
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
