time to do some culling of my notes. there's no structure to it and just a huge brain dump. most of it is already in my head at this point and it starts to become overwhelming...
got to trust that if it's important enough, the idea will come back to me in the moment.
delete all the things!
also might do a stream after.
@geoffduncan @NigelTufnel @GuitarSith I’m on iMac with logic but I have stayed a few versions behind to avoid AI as much as possible.
@ambergrey @geoffduncan @NigelTufnel @GuitarSith My MacOS is now two versions back, and I won't be updating it. I know there are plugins that still don't work with the next version, and I know the version after that takes a chunk of disc space for AI.
The machine is the very last i7 Mac Mini anyway, so we're heading for the end of the road. When I complete the transition to Linux using the Thinkpad I've set up, I'll put Linux on the Mac Mini as well: after all, it does have 64GB RAM.
Automatic focus changes are usually a thorny issue when you go through by accessibility experts, since they can make blind people get lost.
But clearly that would be an improvement over focusing on the popup title as it does now, which makes no sense at all.
I'm not liking the redesign at all. Most of the changes are for the worse, IMHO.
@jcurioso The dialog does more than one thing and has horrible button placement, so focusing on the title does make sense (the dialog itself would be better, but there are technical reasons we're not doing that).
The modal wasn't changed in the redesign by the way, and we want to improve it in the near future.
I refuse to play it your way! Why would I select some old rock stars or pampered celebrities when we've got so much great music right here?
ChatGPT is creating intimate digital profiles of its users including personal data and "psychological insights."
@Gizmodo has the details:
@marcus vor allem wann? Sieht echt viel besser aus als vorher
@MoritzGlantz @marcus Ich bin mir 100% sicher, dass sein Screenshot von Microsoft Office ist.
i love half-broken digital tape. you don't get these kinds of glitches with analog or with filters. these are just stupid. i have no idea what even happened here

I think the UI is better than new reddit, but if it's more complicated, maybe that'll keep stupid people out. Let them stay on reddit.

maybe but this is accurate
Even with all the blocks I’ve made it just seems to be a bunch of toxic left wing people calling each other fascist because of some minor difference in opinion
lol
Did anyone else, maybe older like me, grow up listening to a narrated Peter and the Wolf with orchestral accompaniment? This was huge for us as children. We had one of this little record players with a handle that you could carry around and I do remember listening to this nonstop. This probably kicked off lots of things for me--love of music and dark tales. So lovely not to have moving pictures but just one's imagination. https://youtu.be/28JTQJvsaZw?si=SdOsaqTHfv-0thDK

i'm on the tech report again today (probably), talking about the PHP vulnerability
my thesis: it was something, but not remarkably something, and I blame AI boosters for the incredible hype
@davidgerard The AI hype train has a lot to answer for.
