You make the critical mistake in assuming that not voting for the Dems actually hurts them.
I’d say they’re also happy to be in perpetual “opposition”.
So really the only thing not voting is doing is saying that you want more dead children.
I don’t care if it hurts them or not. I’m not voting for a lesser evil or a greater one. I’ll vote my conscience, and if more of you did we’d live in a better world.

A university course is currently trying out Pixelfed
A few weeks ago, we started noticing a number of applications on pixelfed.ca, where the user would say that they needed to register for a course. I don’t have full confirmation, but I’m fairly certain that this is a legitimate wave of signups from students at a Canadian university.
I’m sharing this post for a few reasons:
- I thought it was neat
Personally, I’m excited that people are trying out Pixelfed and using it in coursework like this. If you are one of the students, now seeing this post, welcome! :) I hope that the project goes well, and that you have a pleasant experience on the platform. Feel free to share any and all feedback.
- Some of the posts may look like spam at first
You might be seeing similar looking posts from different accounts on your feed. My guess is that the course has specific requirements and example templates. However, there’s also plenty of real content (ex. artwork, photography, etc.), so I don’t think it’s going to be disruptive
- Please report anything that seems off

Catodon recently implemented Mobilizon/Gancio events, but users on Mastodon or other platforms see events as posts that they can't interract with. This makes events on fedi far less useful. We're gonna change that - we'll create an events.bot account that users from other platforms will be able to send a DM to, and respond to an event (Attend/Deny) via the bot. This way, anyone on fedi will be able to attend an event originally published in Catodon.

Classic advice for toxic behavior is "just block". Yes it does help. I've had to block about 10 accounts in the last month and honestly, things have drastically calmed down. It seems to prove that most of the toxic behavior is from a small minority.
But In doing user research, it was clear that many people self censor out of fear of toxic blowback.
The problem is that it's not just one block, you need to do it many times and each time you do it, your perception of the problem is reinforced. The trick is to get to the other side.
Many don't make it. That is my worry.
I recommend quickly blocking anyone who makes your social network less useful or meaningful for you … however you make these decisions, it’s all up to you.
Managed to do my late evening physio exercises for about ten minutes. I thought I wouldn't be able to since I went to see my PT in the afternoon. I just needed it.
I've only been able to use my lightest resistance band this time, which is 5 kilograms. It's still heavy for me on most days, but I'm getting used to it.
I'm very sleepy now but satisfied!

Fucking non-voters complaining why the democratic party doesn’t cater to their whims, never connecting that it’s because they don’t fuckin vote. But you don’t become a tankie through reason or logic.
I vote in every fucking election. I am a former paid Democratic campaign staffer. I also will not cosign on a genocide nor will I vote for any candidate offering less than full-throatednsupoort for trans rights.
I love being Schrodinger’s voter to ShitLibs like you though. Pick a lane: either my vote is worth enough that the DNC should have to earn it by stepping over a bar that’s on the fucking floor, or my vote isn’t needed and the DNC doesn’t have to cater to me. But if you’re telling me it’s my fault when the other capitalist shitweasels win, I’m gonna have to tell you it’s the fault.ofnthe party that doesn’t care enough about my vote to piss off their Wall St Paymasters to earn it.

This is how it went with my autistic toddler. He’s always known his brother as his brother, but he didn’t start transitioning until 2 months ago. We just told him big brother is a boy on the inside and soon he’ll match on the outside. Kid went “oh, ok” and went back to playing. It’s not complicated, it’s their hatred that makes it complicated for them.
