Right? “These clowns think we’re all idiots” The depressing part is, I think these clowns are almost half-right.

IDK, I think he’d be pretty good as a couch critic. Not a salesman, I wouldn’t want to touch any couch he’s spent time around, but I bet he knows his stuff
I am *so* out of the loop with everything going on in Apple Land and Indie Developer Land these days but I did update my blog! So…there’s that. 😅 https://www.beckyhansmeyer.com/2026/10/22/taps-mic-is-this-thing-on/
@bhansmeyer 👋😊
Alright I got tickets to You Can See Everything this weekend, but I'm already a big Nathan Fielder fangirl. I think he's a Canadian Treasure, must be protected at all costs, and I would recommend people to watch The Rehearsal S2 (it's self contained, you don't need S1) without knowing anything about it. Watch everything. I promise you have absolutely no idea where the show is going at the end.
So my expectation about the movie is: I have no idea! #cinema #youcanseeeverything #movies

I suggest you go read more about the Mathematical domain called Games Theory if you think casting one vote amongst millions once every 4 years in a Voting System Mathematically designed so that not all votes count the same, with the only information before casting the vote being what the people who can benefit from your choice say they will do (with no mechanism to enforce their promises), is anywhere near the same as an individual direct choice with guaranteed results between two actions whose possible outcomes the one making the choice knows upfront with absolute certainty.
There should be a special Falacy for pulling out the Trolley Problem for situations where it’s Mathematically not applicable.

I’m pretty sure “the trolley cannot be stopped no matter what” is an integral part of the thought experiment.
Which is why it’s a bad analogy to apply to real world situations. It only helps trap people into thinking the problem is unsolvable because that’s the way the system works, when in reality if the system is making you choose between things like genocide abroad or fascism at home, you should just change the system.
Pros of having two feet:
-Good for walking
Cons of having two feet:
-If you're a Republican, that's one more foot to shoot yourself in.

I have a lot of internal conversations with myself which I believe to be fairly normal, but the most embarrassing part is that they all end with something like "that's a very good point, Alice!"
@Alice The problem is when you lose the argument!
Not for the first time, if you like musicals and folk music from the Appalachian Scots-Irish tradition, the Ballad Lines soundtrack gets my highest possible recommendation.
I think I need to add some more contemporary musicals to a to-listen playlist. I think I've missed out on a lot as Broadway has become more stale and boring. The best musicals are not opening on Broadway anymore.
@mwl Honestly just because this guy has deadlines and prorities and makes his living writing things for paying readers is no justification at all for not dropping everything they're doing and writing what I want to hear right away for free.
You know, I'm starting to think you all come here on purpose.
@Mrfunkedude you can't prove a thing
why do people call LLM training on public website data “AI Copyright Infringement” when “six finger discount” is right there
Great.
The Unfollow button sticks to the scroll position in the mobile view of Mastodon. Right next to Home and Search. I'll probably unfollow a lot of people over the next weeks fat fingering that button by accident.
