Not every message the activitypub can send is suitable for every platform. Reddit style discussions just don’t map to Mastodon.
The most important thing is that lemmy, Mbin, piefed, etc. can communicate freely. You can try to build a platform that does it all but I think it will be messy.

@mcc Yeah, those files are mostly written by the machines themselves. This is why it never made sense to me that people complained about devs being willing to write documentation for robots but not write it for people.
They aren't writing it for the robots either. The robots write the summary documentation too.
