I know I complain about Theo a lot because he's only half-socialized and bites and misbehaves. So today I just want to say he's been a very good pussycat, letting me write without hassling me for three hours, sleeping first on the bed and then in a sunbeam in the window, and now cuddling nicely on my lap.
The photo would have been good for #Caturday, but I'll just post it for #SilentSunday.
Drag-and-drop makes the digital graspable, but building it well is fiddly enough that many don’t bother. Declarative Dragging (with Josh Horowitz (@qualmist) & Jeff Heer, uist2026 best paper award), lets you make an element draggable just by listing the states dragging it can reach.
I secretly like Coldplay. None of my mates know. My wife doesn't know. In fact I go out of my way to make sure they all know I hate Coldplay. Their music is actually a guilty pleasure of mine, when alone, on the sly, like a Ginsters from a motorway petrol station.

“Raking” the water to get the leaves out is weird, but strangely efficient.
Most of the leaves are out of the pond and either into the garden beds or spread around the edges. I don’t really like the gravel and rock border but it is necessary until the edges are planted with shrubbery ( 😆) so this will help soften it and start to create some mulch.
Then it was time to put up the bike shelter-turned-chicken-run and move the coop!

Quick note before I forget it: when I worked in a pet store we had pond supplies (and koi,) one of which was over-priced plastic netting with pictures on the box of it being draped over ponds to prevent leaves falling in.
But one of our pond people said it was much better to put a layer down on the bottom, and lift it in the fall to pull up everything which somehow falls into the pond. (They transferred their koi into a non-freezing pool for winter, and the net made it easier.)

Literally none I basically assumed that anything I do on the internet can be read by anyone at any time. I’m still a fucking freak because they’ll have to kill me to stop me from being freaky. If I die unexpectedly the government did it. Never forget that.
