All some of us are saying is contact your senators and tell them voters voted for change; keeping Schumer is not change; also having both Dem leaders from the same voting precinct in NYC is not ideal : scott Colom’s (mississippi senator elect ) argument

fb listed zuck getting kicked in the head as a hobby after all
For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

deep within me bubbles a treatise demonstrating that every foundational premise in modern computing design is actually the embodiment of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in that it’s the first thing that popped into someone’s head that got instantiated and therefore should absolutely be subject to constant re-evaluation by others.

Just realized Harvest, the invoicing service I use, went from charging me $13 a month to $133 a month. Good fucking lord.

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.

Nvidia is investigating Jensen Huang’s relationship with a Chinese spy https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/1029562/nvidia-investigating-jensen-huang-relationship-chinese-spy
@verge
It's the oldest spy ploy in the book.
Okay actually the domain name was first registered in 2014 so I guess that probably is what happened. But I have no idea where they were located before they took over the 8 Ounce space.
Also FWIW the 206 Burger menu is nothing like the 8 Ounce menu. 8 Ounce made *amazing* high-end burgers that cost $20 and were worth every penny.
aha, looks like they have another location on Queen Anne, and it's quite possible that was established in 2014. I used to spend a lot of time in Queen Anne but it's been a loooooong time.
