Across the south something is VERY clear... tons of these races in the South were shamefully underfunded YET they have been insanely CLOSE races especially with Black politicians.
The story of Jamie Davis' campaign in Baton Rouge nearly winning on $0.06 spent per won vote against a Trump endorsed opponent who spent $9 a vote!
The DNC needs to support Southern races!

I could talk all day about Black voter turnout but to understand what -actually- is propelling the Democrat rise right now you also have to pay attention rural white voters in majority white districts.
Places like North Carolina's 11th district it easy to see how candidates like Jamie Ager won.
A focus on TRUE working class Southern politics.
- FEMA funding
- Cheaper health care
- Lowering inflation
- Ending Trump corruption

Apparently it is #saunofthesheep day, so here are some 100% New Zealand sheep
@darkbeth Yes, it's a solid option. The main drawbacks: the spam filter is very primitive, and this options also feels to me a bit like a going back before 2010; when I used a mail client and not a webmail only.
But after a bit of tweaking, I found that installing a client (tested Geary), setting up IMAP is not that much a big chore and really usable.
OVH proposes their own webmail software, coming with the hosting plan, and it's not that bad too in case I need access on a public machine.
@davidrevoy Now see, this is helpful.
I haven't used IMAP in decades now, and I was looking into it this morning because Runbox's webmail interface is pretty rough, and I barely even know where to start. KMail? (comes with Fedora)---people say it's crap. Thunderbird? Don't really want Mozilla these days.
I saw Geary, but didn't look into it yet. Maybe that'll be an option.
Also, I just looked up my domain registrar (INWX), and they do, indeed, have email hosting. Gotta look into this now.
@hipsterelectron paging @shapr is this something prolly trees can do?
@meejah @hipsterelectron yes that's correct
For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

The Music icon has changed from red to black/white in iOS 27. Dislike. π
@getalifemike Agree. And the rating stars are now blue. Hate it.
@hipsterelectron Merkle trees, or maybe Prolly trees?

@evan I love my Lee Valley peasantβs knife. It goes camping with us and anywhere weβre going to cook (and arenβt flying too). I also have a good bread knife that changed my life.
Happy 4 years to everyone that arrived in the Great Wave of '22 and are actually still here. You're the real heroes.
I haven't opened the #Fedilab issue tracker in a long time (I am a bit afraid to). But this break really helped me understand where I should put my energy and motivation, and what I can keep doing in the long run.
In a few months, Fedilab will be 10 years old, and if it is still here, it is of course thanks to your support.
So thank you all for being part of it.
@apps
Lol where did the time go!!??
@meejah one thing that current checksum technology cannot do is share tree structure. if only a single file in a subdirectory is modified, it generates a completely new top-level checksum, which you need to recursively extract from the database in order to forensically investigate. you should be able to describe a stable tree structure in a checksum tree object which can be sent over along with the data itself and can be efficiently patched onto another hash tree to represent changes without having to recompute the entire hash tree from the bottom up
@hipsterelectron Merkle trees, or maybe Prolly trees?
