I don't expect much privacy on a shared public space like the fediverse. If I wanted privacy, I'd spin up a new profile every day/week, and use an external bookmark manager to save stuff

Look at that
@ai6yr that's the most realistic picture of a Cybertruck that I've ever seen. It looks more like a Cybertruck than seeing a Cybertruck in person.

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.

The former Harbison's Dairies, locally known as the "milkbottle building", is a prominent local landmark in the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia. It was long vacant at the time this was captured, but has since been spruced up and redeveloped as a mixed-use commercial space. Surrounding development has enveloped the building; the milkbottle-shaped water tower is no longer readily visible from the street.
thought you were typing "Raptured with a DSLR" and I was going to say, take photos as you are sucked into the sky. Then I was "wait, I don't think Matt would be raptured with the crazy Christofascists, that must be a typo"
@sabena I would expect I am using Microsoft Visual Studio, which contains both a 32 bit and 64 bit toolchain.
@sabena Also I should clarify that we are not using "Ninja", were not aware that "Ninja" was installed, and on checking our CMake generators, it claims Visual Studio is our generator.
uspol - impeach Stephen Miller..?
So... my question is...
Is "Chief of Staff" a cabinet position, and therefore impeachable, now..?
I recall people saying his prior position wasn't official or wasn't Cabinet, and so an impeachment wasn't legal. But what about now..?
I mean, I want him gone even more than Hegseth or RFK.
I've read several people essentially saying "no, he's still not impeachable, because the position doesn't require Senate approval". Unfortunate.
I guess they'll have to find another way.
But really, one way or another, he has to go.

@gael Speaking as someone who backed your initial kickstarter, who has purchased phones from Murena, and has a Fairphone 5 in my pocket running your OS today.
Your whole experiment has been to give people alternatives to big tech.
The market is sick of big tech shoving genAI into their operating systems, into their smartphones.
Your hearing from a whole lot of folks right now; who want an alternative from genAI.
WHY not capitalize on that market; that is obviously in your wheelhouse?
@trashheap 🤔 did I say we need to embrace big tech-AI?
Change can be hard. Taking care of yourself is a change that's worth the work.

@mcc I have CMake build for Visual Studio and in the project set it to compile x64. That may or may not be useful to you.
@krapp You mean, you go into the Visual Studio GUI and do this?
