Factoid time! If you have a piece of rope long enough to wrap all the way around the Earth, you only need to add about 6 meters 37 centimeters more to make it long enough to hover a meter above the planet! Now, how to make it float...
Curious to see whether there's a meaningful correlation between a developer's affinity to writing (blogs, scripts, etc.) and AI. Reposts are much appreciated to get me out of my echo chamber.
If you're a developer, what statement align closest with your opinion?

@teajaygrey No, Asahi is at the very least responsible for very publicly doing the initial platform bring-up and upstreaming of Linux kernel drivers.
I don't think anything Corellium did was upstreamed.
I actually had a relatively positive opinion on the Ashai project and developers before this policy about-face. Oh well.
Ah, maybe Corellium didn't get anything upstreamed?
Nonetheless, despite Asahi Linux putting out the call for reverse engineering Apple Silicon in December of 2020 (at least according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asahi_Linux#History), I seem to recall Corellium beating them to the punch with headlines in January 2021, e.g. https://www.macrumors.com/2021/01/20/corellium-linux-m1-macs/
Do Asahi devs claim they didn't derive any sources from https://github.com/corellium/linux-m1 with their upstreaming work as well? Seems, unlikely? Though far be it for me to waste more time doing forensic source reconstruction and retroactive lkml tracking to determine provenance. That sort of thing is what attorneys tend to charge hundreds of dollars and hour for and I prefer to avoid such realms.

@neil can I just ask which documentation? I've struggled to get this working.
@graham_arden The docs on the LE add-on for HAOS.
I will blog it properly, but the gist was to use an automatic targeting the restart property of Supervisor, using LE as the target, scheduled to run each night.

If Mastodon isn't on the list of apps that are allowed to do Notifications, then the operating system is preventing it.
I'm not sure why Mastodon isn't on that list if you granted it permission though!
@FediTips
I get Notifications from Tusky, but I don't look thought the orders. For me it is chaos. So I don’t want a third source. It is just for testing.

[Discussion] How do you (unit-)test your shaders?
Hey all! I’ve been thinking about how to best unit-test my shader code, since TDD has been very helpful for me. But I’ve been able to find surprisingly little information. If possible, I’d love to hear from your experiences!
My current plan is to write unit tests using Sub-Viewports that each have a small wrapper shader to draw the result of the tested functions to e.g. 256x256px textures, which I can then compare against snapshots.
This could allow for assertion functions (one condition per pixel), but getting any kind of usable error messages would mean a ton of work, so I don’t think that it’d be worth it.
chat, is it a good sign when the website of my computer's manufacturer stops existing
@uint8_t that means they were purchased.... hoepfully.

stop calling it "super intelligence" ffs!! what is wrong w/ that congresswoman that she's pushing dotard's idiotic AI "rebranding" propaganda?
I wish the left would learn to stop reinforcing right-wing messaging. it's such a stupid own goal 😞
I'm surprised that so many people don't know this.
