Our experimental For you -feed ported to Mastodon v5, here's the clean internal PR against today's vanilla core: https://github.com/mementomori-social/mastodon/pull/18

I mean I live in a country whose political environment was irrevocably changed because of Cambridge Analytica. And facebook’s algorithm is partly being blamed for the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar. It’s not really about you that I’m worried with, but for others in general.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Some data brokers looking through your preferences and building a profile out of you, I guess.

You know how when you're a kid, birthday presents are a much bigger deal than when you're an adult?

This year, my mother gave me a birthday present that even 10-year-old me would have agreed was the most. awesome. birthday. present. EVER.

A 1:12 scale model of Terry Pratchett's study.

(it's a "compound study" based on multiple pictures she'd found of what his study or home office looked in the various homes he'd had over the years)

Does your organisation rely on NLnet Labs? If you have budget left this year, please consider using some of it to support our #OpenSource work.

As an independent non-profit foundation, we fund maintenance of our open-source software through support agreements, new development through grants, and research and policy work from our reserves.

Take out a support agreement, sponsor a feature, or make a donation. If someone else manages the budget, please share this with them.

Papyrix includes a support library (integrated into its fancier text layout) for auto-hyphenating words, finding all the place might be hyphenated. So how does it work?

There's a public API which reformats the results from its auto-hyphenation & exposing the language-setter.

That setter invokes which helper which strips the region off the language-code & converts ISO639-2 into into ISO639-1 codes via lookuptable, to get the appropriate hyphenation data via another lookuptable.
