If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.

You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!

I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.

I think its funny when someone doesn’t disclose it’s an ai project they get hella upvotes

@gb123geo @TarHeelBel I haven't tried control via VoiceOver yet, but I'm definitely interested in making Nowza as accessible as possible. I will add this to the backlog!

"Could've sworn that was Congress's job."...

You and everyone else...
With the sad exception of Congress itself.

Democrats won the fight against the Republicans. Now the true progressives of the party need to win the fight against the centrist tacticians who just want to maintain the corporate status quo and do not want to use the power they were just handed. Schumer and Jeffries gotta go!

Please call your state reps (find at 5calls.org) or use the congressional line at 202-224-3121 to urge Congress not to vote for Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer as Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader.

They will be voting soon so time is critical. We need to demand a change in leadership.

@gruber i’m sorry buddy, but no X embracer/returner/apologist is ever allowed to use the term “there’s no accounting for taste” about anyone else, ever. i think that’s in strunk & white. (otherwise a nice piece today)

@tuban_muzuru @paninid

Unironically seems like a good exercise, though.

@davidgerard Turns out, a lot of people don’t have principles at all.

@farah Well, that sounds unpleasant.

@damon Could be you're right.

What infrastructure has Canada built on ATProto? Are you thinking of governments in Canada, or private Canadian organisations?
