Great research from Nolan Lawson on the AI cost of JavaScript frameworks, with benchmarks, not vibes.

@nuxt comes out strong for the agentic era:

- Fewest tokens of any framework (even fewer than vanilla JS)
- Near the top for cost and time per run
- Second-fewest lines of code to maintain

The cheapest code is the code the agent never has to write.

I want the caption to be something like "Okay, who screwed the first pooch?" (Referencing a scene in "The Trouble With Tribbles", even though this isn't taken from that.)

@eryops Oh I'm going with 6/6. To know him is to hate him, unless you're also a nazi, in which case he's your comrade and you approve despite all the _other_ ways in which he is repellent.

Dear non-crafters.

Please stop suggesting that hobby crafters who do things simply for the love of it start selling their work. It is not the compliment you think it is. It's like seeing someone with children and saying "wow your children are not misbehaving. You should consider being a babysitter. People would pay you for that.".

Sincerely, someone who was told yet again that I should monetize the hobby that I use to escape capitalism.

@ai6yr when i did buttonholes using a machine, i did not use the foot pedal. I used the hand turn to move the needle. It gave me more control.

@davidgerard This has to be the Windows 11 mucked up version, right? MSPaint is the geeky program sitting over in the start menu, there to help you make a meme or something when you need it... come on, now!

We shouldn’t be forced to use toxic platforms that track and profile us in order to get public information.

Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube track and profile their users so that they can target advertising towards them.

Their business models fuel online harms by pushing more and more extreme content to users. Despite this, these platforms are one of the primary ways that government departments share public information.

being hydrated has such an outsized positive effect on mood & general performance, BUT for whatever reason, that only seems clear in retrospect -- it’s not like the effects of hydration are little/subtle, it just isn’t readily apparent in the moment imo.

But then Ryan and I opened a record store together, and Hurly Burly and the Volcanic Fallout got back together to play our grand opening party.

And then they didn't perform together again until, I think 2022.

Ryan and I opened a makerspace, and Violet flew in to town, and they kidnapped Sean from having a family and being a scholar and got back together and recorded Giant Robot Jetpack.

It was the very first thing we did in the makerspace!

And it's exactly the kind of nostalgic, loud, aggressive garage rock you'd expect from a bunch of friends getting back together to record an album 15 years or so after they stopped making music.

@ascentale @Weather_Rock_Wx @bikenite A3: Multi-position ergonomic grips, and changing between those positions when you can. Ergon make a bunch of options, I'm using these at the moment:

@moira Sadly, very sadly, I'm gonna guess that out of that 43% unsure, 5/6 don't even know who he is.

I run Feditrends, a website that aggregates top news stories from around the Fediverse, updates a couple times an hour. I think it's pretty good but no one seems to know about it. (I didn't build the initial version, I took it over from the previous developer.)
