Hey, sisters, how can I install JavaScript engine in my body? 😂
It's kind of sweet when your Utah upbringing shows!
There's been porn of people of all ages forever. The weird part is when you realize that people your age are marketed as granny porn
You want to know what else is sweet? I knew a guy who was extremely active in the kink community in a major city. Like on the boards of things and stuff
And we were chatting about porn one time, and he said do you want to see my favorite pornstar? And I was like, okay. So he shows me this video, and being diplomatic, I asked him what do you like about her? Because the woman in the video was not particularly pretty, and not young. Not what I expected
He said, she's the one who looks the most like my girlfriend
I thought that was the rockin'est answer ever
@NilaJones 😬 Okay, everyone for their own kind of thing, but ix-nay on discussing porn at work, at any community organization, or on the board of any group.
Not to be coy about her identity, I just ran out of characters. She's been a rep, she's been very effective. I look forward to her being effective in the senate. More people should have these jobs who want to do the work.
@jessamyn Yea! Glad to hear she won!

“To the extent that there’s this emboldened sense that we want to do something to rein in tech companies, consumer data privacy is the way to go,” EFF’s India McKinney told @cnet. “If we have a new electorate that is newly emboldened to stand up to bullies, let’s start there.” https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/midterm-election-2026-democrats-rein-in-big-tech-reaction/

@thesoundoftruth That's not about GrapheneOS but rather the regular Motorola OS with Google Mobile Services. GrapheneOS doesn't have any agentic AI included. People can install apps for that if they want it.
We have no plan to provide any of our own agentic AI features. We think it belongs in apps installed by users rather than the OS. We do want hardware acceleration to work to encourage avoiding privacy invasive cloud AI services but it's a mobile phone, not a huge server with 1TB of VRAM.
@paul_ipv6 @Viss Yeah, there might have to be some kidnapping and violent thuggery involved BEFORE you'd use that. (not recommended, don't endorse nor condone any of these activities, btw, 🤪 But having watched enough movies....)
@PseudoNovalis I REALLY hope that you cornered Fabio in a filthy bathroom and refused to let him leave until you got a picture. It's poetry!
@johnhattan you got it!

Ai solved coding, it's all managing your Gas Towns now, ask anyone
I haven’t listened to that episode yet, but in any case you might find this (from Peres, Quantum Theory: Concepts and Methods) of interest.
There’s also some closely related material here:
@gregeganSF thanks! That book I have heard before that you & John Carlos Baez recommended it. It certainly looks great, but it's pricey. And certainly your web is a cave of treasures!
I had asked Daniel after hearing the episode (he's very nice!) and he suggested this paper by Mermin himself: https://www.informationphilosopher.com/solutions/scientists/mermin/Mermin_Mysteries_Revisited.pdf

Election nerditry: What most states call "provisional ballots" (a term codified in the Help America Vote Act), Mississippi calls "Affidavit Ballots". Same idea: the ballot is sealed in an envelop, and the voter has a short time (until Nov 10 in MS) to "cure" whatever prevented them from voting by regular ballot (such as providing ID).
@mattblaze Huh. Interesting. In my county (Nassau, NY state), we never were trained on that aspect. We did affidavit ballots for people who were unable to vote because their registration was not yet recorded in the system or if the system said you had received a mail in ballot, but there was no mention of a need to "correct" them. The presumption was that they would be hand counted and accepted unless they were clearly bogus.

@snow@cofe.rocks please do it... again... tomorrow...

But coding is still solved, right?
@adolfoneto totally, it's all managing your Gas Towns now
