Advice for anyone who wants to make art:

Make art.

I've been focused on paper quilling for a few days & new ideas for designs keep popping into my head. I close my eyes & see swirling paper.

This is what happens when I consistently do creative work. I go from having no ideas to having too many.

When I sit down & start working on something at random without knowing what I want to make or what it could look like, it gets my brain in gear, & THEN the ideas come. To make art, you gotta make art.

While I'd love to believe that's all people fascinated by benches, I think it's more likely to be endless crawlers.

I'm lucky to have a very generous host with no hard bandwidth limits, but I'd want to find a way to block bots without having human-facing interstitials. Looks like robots.txt isn't cutting it.

This is worse than an PR stunt. To liken what algorithms do in a data center with what humans do in a university is just one more step in the "AI are people"-push and all the shit this contains.

@Vivaldi I haven't seen any tests of Vivaldi's ad blocker, but I'd like to see options like: off, medium (block intrusive ads but leave some so the site can make money), strong (block everything we can), and for the crazy ones (nothing will work)
