I shipped a new command to clear out old federated statuses on Pixelfed (without any local interactions) yesterday, and so far it's purged 80 million posts from the database!

We don't cache remote media by default, so it's a pretty efficient process.

The statuses table was over 300GB, and is estimated to be under 25GB when finished!

I was able to read the 28 year old floppy. I now have a copy of REBOL 1.0.1 for the Amiga. I don’t think I ever had anything quite that old even back in 1998 and all of the serious REBOL code I wrote was on REBOL 2.

So what do I do with this? Legally it’s under copyright, of course.
