Accountability is the exact word the US needs to show now
Show the world that corruption on the highest level is not accepted and that there are consequences following these actions otherwise what is the point
People in charge and powerful people should be held MORE accountable compared to the average person
They have a lot more resources to make sure they don't fuck up yet often they go the other way
No more
when a defeated president tried to overturn an election he lost, Brazil prosecuted him & put him in prison
they succeeded where the US failed
when another corrupt fascist Bolsonaro tried a comeback, Brazil defeated him. whereas we reelected ours
this is our chance to put things right
no lesson could be more clear. there must be accountability
I get a fucking baffling permissions popup. I don't know what this means. I say "OK". I don't know what I agreed to. A GNOME permission? A flatpak permission (I don't think this is a flatpak, I installed it via apt)? Did it just fuck up my home directory UNIX permissions somehow?
There *is* a documentation page for virt-manager. I invite you to marvel at it. https://virt-manager.org/documentation.html
@HayiWena @ai6yr @phaysis but we (ATX) did get eventually get rid of i35 lower deck’s on-ramps of death!

*After they redo i35 through downtown, people will forget two decks or the short merge lanes ever existed.

If the author’s profile is any indication, it’s likely Harmony was written using AI:

It was. And they’ve also erased its generated disclosures.

Unfortunately, the interesting parts like group chats are not standardized, so not compatible to other Fediverse platforms.
And I’m generally a bit wary of AI written projects. It’s just hard to contribute and get a community going. And a lot of those kinds of projects show some crazy initial growth. And then they might get abandoned once the developer decides to start a new hobby or stop paying for the necessary tokens. Not sure if this is the case here, though.
It’d be nice to have something like this. Ideally an interoperable version.

It’s wild that just the thumbnail alone can tell you it’s vibe-coded.

Not just that but the dev couldn’t even be bothered to write their own bio, what are the chances they took the time to look over a single line of code or test anything at all?
In a Risk-Limiting Audit, a random sample of ballots is compared (by human judges) with how the tally system interpreted the ballot. As you sample more ballots that were interpreted correctly, you gain more confidence that the automated system reported the correct overall outcome. Some relatively statistical math lets us quantify the level of confidence we achive (called the "risk limit").

The good news here is that if the automated tally system was operating correctly, the number of ballots that have to be sampled and compared generally needs only be surprisingly small to achieve a very high degree of confidence (a low risk limit).
The even better news is that RLAs achieve everything traditional recounts do, but with the added feature that they also protect against catastrophic software errors or malware in the tabulators. They render recounts an obsolete approach.

@DarcMoughty @glyph I need to create an XML file?
Doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose of making a GUI application :(
@mcc @DarcMoughty I am suggesting that the GUI might work if you rename your image to be a .raw instead of a .img. this is a long shot. (the gui should then internally generate XML which looks like this but you shouldn’t need to care)
ISO GQL just landed in Virtuoso Open Source.
Most GQL stops at labeled property graphs. This one runs over RDF — hyperlinks as IDs, ontology use, platform-agnostic knowledge graphs. Same idea as SPASQL for SQL.
https://www.openlinksw.com/virtuoso/docs/gql/#gql-overview
#VirtuosoRDBMS #GQL #KnowledgeGraph #SemanticWeb #RDF #SPARQL #PropertyGraph #Database
does GQL over RDF follow owl:sameAs when it matches a pattern, or are hyperlinks as IDs just treated as opaque keys? the sameAs joins across graphs are where my entity counts stop being reproducible, and labeled property graphs never had to deal with that
Anyway. Here's my status.
- I make a new VM in virt-manager. You're not allowed to give it a file. You're supposed to give it A DIRECTORY CONTAINING A FILE, and this creates a "pool", and then you select the file from the "pool". Whatever.
However, then you *MUST* select an "OS".
Redox actually does distribute a qemu-system-x86_64 invocation that bypasses virt-manager and launches Redox directly:
It doesn't select an OS.
I guess I select "generic (not recommended)".

The new Godzilla genuinely made me cry a little bit, it is very good.
"While the Greens, Te Pāti Māori and Opportunity had plans for major tax reforms, 'there isn't a public appetite for tax reform that is that radical', Hipkins said."
#BazMacdonald, 2026
Au contraire;
"64% support wealth tax in latest Ipsos poll"
#AnnaWhyte, Sept 2026

I *know* Sinking sHipkins isn't that out of touch. The despicable weasel is lying through his teeth.
I *know* he knows a majority of kiwis have supported increasing taxes on wealth for years. Because I pointed it out to him when I quizzed him about tax reform in a public meeting after the 2023 election. He just doesn't want to do what the public want.
So if you want to change the government, instead of just swap one useless Chris for another, vote for anyone but Labour.

It turns out cowboy cheeseburgers also strongly oppose data centers. Good for them.
@lowqualityfacts Can they spell AI? 😎
The LLMs are creating a new kind of mysticism. At Project Gutenberg, we're starting to get emails they have written trying to contact authors of some of the books we distribute. The authors have been dead for over a hundred years. I'm tempted to answer.
