@7sleepersmusic ha! Amazing

Girlfriend just showed me an election post with the word "Bluekakke" and I'm peeing myself laughing.

ABDUL EL-SAYED WINS IN MICHIGAN!

He FIERCELY defended transgender people in a race where tons of anti-trans ads were spent against him.

Centrist Democrats tried to force him out.

HE WINS! Defending trans sports and healthcare!

For all the transphobic ads that have been so prevalent, a trans woman just beat an incumbent in fucking Alabama

It’s not just Talarico beating Paxton.

It’s Abbott losing.

It’s Dan Patrick losing.

It’s Mayes Middleton losing.

It’s Bo French losing.

It’s every single statewide race in Texas—including four (of the nine) seats on the Texas Supreme Court.

Holy. Shit.

@mansr Boring old wrong number!

@kde You should allocate on a logarithmic scale... first goes for a £100 donation, second for £1,000 and so on. That would definitely work. Couldn't possibly go wrong!

@neil Scam or just wrong number?

So, it's an exciting night, but I want to talk about a couple smaller things from my home state of Missouri:

A big one, we voted down an Abortion Ban for the second time in 2 years.

Proposition A, which was an attempt by Republicans to do some redistricting, was struck down.

Missouri has the right to citizen led initiatives, we have used that to end the abortion ban, legalize Marijuana, raise the minimum wage, among many others. Republican law makers only needed a 60% margin to repeal them, but Amendment 6 demands 80% in both the House and the Senate, and it must come back to a vote. News Outlets are already reporting it has passed, giving Missourians more control over our own government.

I first met Suzanne Luther in a coffee house, when she started organizing her grassroots campaign, and I would see her around, in my favorite bookstore, handing out pamphlets at festivals, and several times knocking at my own door. I'm very proud to say she won her House of Representative Seat.

Feel free to share some wins of your own.

First 100: BadgeFed Explorer

The verified Recognition was issued to @Andy Piper

You ventured into uncharted territory and helped shape the BadgeFed project from the start. As one of the first 100 testers, your curiosity, feedback, and bug-finding instincts helped stabilize the platform. The fediverse will always remember your role in getting us off the ground—one crash, typo, and glorious bug report at a time.

Earning Criteria: Awarded to the first 100 individuals who actively participated in the early testing phase of BadgeFed. This includes exploring the platform, submitting feedback or bug reports, and generally poking around where things probably weren’t ready yet. These badges are limited—no retroactive claims, no reruns, no exceptions. You were here. You mattered..

@EUCommission
Yeah, and what did you do to make it work? Where were the constants on the European Motor Industry to stop it from increasing GHG emissions? Not to mention the failure to move fast enough to renewables and other measures which you could have taken...

EU's proposed Kids Act: age checks for social media, video platforms, chatbots, apps and games

adults treated like minors until they prove otherwise. ID document or biometric face scan

proof that it works? the Commission offers none

its own expert panel: "most minors find a way" around such rules

so everyone shows ID or face, and most kids get around it anyway 🤦

not child protection. new ID infrastructure?

why?
