My biggest takeaway from this election, so far, is that a lot of disaffected liberals in "red states" have possibly lived their whole lives thinking "why bother?" Now, with Texas, and South Carolina, and Kansas and ... they know why to bother.
Thanks to everyone who didn't let their anger at the Dem not having the right position on their most important issue, prevent them from voting for the Dem.
To everyone else annoyed that some had that reluctance, please support #RankedChoiceVoting so that this need not be a problem in the future.

This would put the Democrats at a staggering +8 in the Senate with 54 seats

I cannot handle the amount of good news coming in (and certainly not when thinking about how much work has to be done)
so I'll just let it wash over me for a minute
but also they're calling it for El-Sayed which is fucking AMAZING
Do you need clips of snow leopards cuddling? Yes. Yes, you do :3
Remember, it isn’t over until the president declares it was rigged.
@mattblaze
He would probably prefer to get sodomized by Netanyahu than to admit he was wrong or that the election was rigged.

45 minutes later:
who exactly are you fuckers who kept electing cliff bentz
@atsuzaki I don't know anything about Cliff Bentz but the map of the counties which voted for him covers a significant fraction of the area of the state. Somehow the implications of assigning districts by population hadn't really hit for me before seeing this map.

If only Mitch McConnell had lived to see this night.
This right here is why in a two party system you don’t vote for the no chance of winning third party candidate, why you don’t stay home. Absolute nail biter in Mississippi race for U.S. Senate. 1/
@heidilifeldman Interesting reporting on CNN just now that there are 1500 affidavits that Colom thinks are going to go largely their way.
@futzle I can send you Haul on the Jib if you want it. It's already half done. 😁
@pilum Sure, thanks 😊 I can import MIDI or MusicXML.
so in texas if everything's bigger do they issue subpoenas on like those big cardboard novelty cheques in game shows, because I think they should
@TerryHancock Yeah; I saw that on the NPR live page, too. My inclination was to expect a lot of split-ticketing, specifically because of not having Abbott's datacenter weakness and Paxton's literal-everything weakness. That sort of late shift still feels like a very real possibility.
Yep... some of the down-ballot races are red-shifting now. And the top race leads are thinning. Talarico and Hinojosa's leads are getting a lot closer at 89% counted, but I hope they are still going to hold.
But I think my US Rep is still going to be Republican after all. Damn. I thought it might flip.
