@schwa Update is live!
@Migueldeicaza I have a port of SwiftTerm that uses SLUG… GPU time is slower than your texture atlas though but there are some advantages…
You know those paintings you do with your 2 year old when you fold the paper & make a butterfly, well I do that with my toilet paper.
@fesshole Rorshach Butterflies? Or perhaps Raw Shite Butt-erflies in your case.

Adopting my "it doesn't have to be all at once, we can take it in steps" approach.
I've located the tote with the supplies and put it onto my craft table (which was clear because I'm clearly some kind of witch).
Now, when I'm ready (hopefully tonight cuz I won't have time tomorrow morning!) I can just sit down and start making them.
This is one of those things that's hard to get myself going on for complicated reasons. But I will be sad if I don't do it.
Hear me out: the problem is that public servants (and in fact most people) don't view capitalism as a conspiracy. They don't view corporations as its totally committed agents. They believe that one corporation can credibly assess the value of work that another corporation proposes to gov't - e.g. a 'feasibility study' or a 'ROI report' or 'cost-benefit analysis' provided by one of the 'Big Four'. You'd think they're 'neutral' or maybe on the gov't's side, it the gov't is paying them, right? 2/n
Nope. The Big Four are looking at global revenue streams. Their biggest customers are probably gov'ts... but their biggest sources of business are, in the IT space, Big Tech. So it's in their interest to always 'put their finger on the scale' to ensure Big Tech wins any procurement process... because it brings them the most new business. It's a mutual back slapping exercise. It's pretty much out in the open, but relies on 'low level' lack of ethics across lots of corporations. 🤔 Plausible?

I wanna do a little craft to bring gifts to tomorrow's hot pot date with girlfriends.
But I've also used so many spoons today already and am starting to become paralyzed by election anxiety. In that neurospicy space where I have to just WAIT and can't do anything until I *know*
(is it just me? does anyone else get that?)
I know that doing my little craft will help with my brain space. But it feels impossible right now. Maybe I can body double hubby when he gets home.

How the hell do I get at a symbol variant, like the Japanese localization of “character”?
SF Symbols used to be able to do this, but it seems like version 27 removed it without a functional replacement.
If there isn’t some well hidden setting, this is a major regression if you care about localization.
Anyway, PSA to no one in particular: sewing is an extremely, extremely useful skill to have, of PHENOMENAL usefulness, and it's a shame it's not respected as such (at least, not in the US -- and based on the extremely low value placed in sewing worldwide, probably a global thing). So glad the many folks here have pointed me in the right direction on this. And it's also a shame it's been pretty gender-role limited. (at least for me, a straight male...) I highly recommend everyone and anyone at least learn the basics (repair and some modifications), but if you're into math/puzzles/3d modeling/etc. it is a natural fit to go well beyond that.
@ai6yr There is a long tradition of male tailors, of course--but that's business rather than home sewing.
Happy St Martin's Day, not to be confused with Martinmass, which is on the 11th of November. 😁
