@chillicampari made it on top of acropolis. Just a little bitching but healthwise perfectly. The cane helped.

@ai6yr i could be wrong, but i don’t think rhabdo has a straightforward relationship with training / prep (aside from like, if you’re doing intense “practice” right before intense effort you can be setting yourself up for it). if anything i’d expect the statistical correlation would be with more-trained athletes being willing to try to “push through it”
despite a few intermittent power failures, i managed to draw this tonight

@RickiTarr "Did you know we can just sneak into their camp at night and kill them in their sleep?" is another fun tactic that brilliant strategists throughout history liked to employ.

@ryan Bummer... just wondering if there's some prevention possible.
Oh, man. It seems like whoever runs Nitter is really having A Time

Goodreads removed RSS and some people are asking for alternatives on Reddit; maybe worth pointing to BookWyrm and NeoDB?

Both fediverse softwares that support user reviews for books, both have RSS support natively (no Piefed/Misskey bridge needed), and some comments also seem discontent with Amazon's mismanagement overall.

@pluralistic Cardigan keeping CARDIAC alive is a lovely bit of continuity. A cardboard computer you can still run in a browser feels close to how people first learned what a register even was.
I don't envy myself when I get my next power bill. I've been running five 3D printers non-stop for the past week now, with another week or so to go. UGH.
I love when I'm learning about some historical battle, and they talk about one of the Generals as a Genius Military Strategist, and then you find out that the plan is always "Hear me out, what if we surprise them, and then get all around them."
@RickiTarr it's like when people praise certain philosophers as being so brilliant that we poor mortals couldn't possibly understand them, and then I find out that they had neurosyphilis and were basically insane.

This Movember, let's talk about men's mental health.
Stigma and social expectations can make it harder for men to speak openly about their mental health or seek support. Challenging these barriers matters.
💙 The EU's comprehensive approach to mental health promotes prevention, supports mental wellbeing and aims to improve access to quality, affordable mental healthcare.
Talking about mental health should never be something to shy away from.
It’s quite remarkable that the EU, of all places, is talking about mental health.
Take a look within your own ranks to see how many people there are who have been bought off, are mentally unstable, and are controlled by outside forces—people who serve the interests of capital at the expense of citizens.
@Crell @linc @ramsey Meh, AWS doesn't know how to run SMB-focused products (and any B2B SaaS is consigned to that segment now IMO). They only know how to do infra things, and that only to a point.
Maybe *some* host will pick this up as an add-on to their business model, but it'll look more like ye olde Fantastico than some AWS-branded thing. But, well, as long as these folks are okay making minus 100 to 200 dollars per month off of these projects, cool I guess?
Google reportedly cleared 250,000 TREES in Finland for a data centre without the environmental impact assessment required by law.
Finnish authorities ordered Google to halt construction, but the damage has already been done.
What was once a forest has been turned into a muddy field. Murky water flowing from the site into a nearby river has also raised concerns about potential harm to wildlife.
