@aparrish valid, but to me there's an opportunity to be had, in a way, since this also means that anyone can poison the models. The poison power of one person is diluted of course, but come up with specific-enough word combinations and there's a decent chance you'll be able to key them up later from a model, I think.
If "everyone develop your own weird works of writing and make up fake facts to put on a fake facts page" became the norm, I think it would be cool (as long as the fake facts are clearly labeled as such where linked to, abusing the fact that scrapers won't carry content across links).
I'm also hoping that the 2027 crash (which I can't manifest hard enough) will dramatically change the equations though.
@tiotasram @aparrish poisoning is a valid strategy but I find it too unreliable. LLMs already spout obviously incorrect info all the time and people use it anyway

PieBB - A PhpBB inspired frontend for piefed

Hi,
After getting forum.retrolemmy.com running with lemmyBB, I wondered if Retrofed could get something similar. Instead of getting lemmyBB (an ancient software for lemmy) to work through a proxy, we created a new frontend made natively for PieFed: PieBB. PieBB is more feature complete than lemmyBB and lighter on the server.
Note: This project was created with the help of an LLM.
It’s live at forum.retrofed.com, and makes PieFed look and work like an old phpBB2 forum. You log in with your normal Retrofed account. Posting, voting, polls, PMs, notifications and moderation all work, and you can even import (some) old phpBB2 themes.
If you notice any bugs, you can message me, or reply here.
If you want to use it yourself, it’s at Github. Tested on PieFed 1.8.x.
Known limitations:
- Register sends you to Retrofed’s own sign-up page.
- The index (Last Post, counts) can be a few minutes behind, to keep API calls down.
- Votes made on Retrofed itself can take up to 10 minutes to show in PieBB, due to a cache in PieFed.

@ai6yr It was a cold October day in Michigan about 35 years ago, hadn't occurred to me to make the pepper jelly outdoors. Used a recipe from my Martha Stewart cookbook thinking I could just substitute the odd lot of cayennes, jalapenos, habaneros for the peppers in the recipe. Worked fine until I added the white vinegar into the pot of chopped peppers on the stove.
The acid vapor opened every pore in my skin—my eyes watered copiously and my hands swole up. Almost went to the ER.
