Ich finde es mega, wie viel Output der Hashtag # ItBands produziert (hat).

i need to go through my followers list more often and kick people outta here because sometimes a resync happens and bots/people i dislike end up refollowing automatically
@nwenny@app.wafrn.net
Wafrn should make unfollow in bsky, we had a bug in the past regarding this and should be fixed
Ha, no one is going to take my most often used tech product, vi, away from me. (Well they did when they converted it to vim but I think I've finally got used to that.)
@iamkonstantin Same, & my dead Switch 1. Also Nintendo made like 3 of the special Zelda units, so I couldn't get one. I have a generic one coming with the game.
@mdhughes Nice. Is it the 40th anniversary edition?

A disgrace to the profession. Traffic wardens should be a front line defence against the plague of cars on our streets. They're my heroes.
@vnikolov @jackdaniel @screwlisp
> CL is mathematically precise
I know y'all understand, but I am fearful of slips:
It *can't* be completely mathematically precise while working with floating point, which does not follow the axioms of real numbers.
Floats do of course follow their own axioms, as you know, but that's not the same.
I am a fan of Kahan:
"βFloatingβpoint arithmetic puts us in a permanent state of sin.β --- William Kahan, the "father of floating point", the primary architect of IEEEβ754 floatingβpoint, as I ranted about quite recently.
People want to check floats for equality all the time -- but unless they know exactly what they're doing, they shouldn't.
> I also think it would be more justified to have _extra_ tests for approximate equality, like a test that uses `rationalize' for floating-point numbers, or a test for proximity up to, say, an ULP.
Oh dear. No, in practice that didn't work out. There's a long history on that.
Although someone sufficiently expert with floating point can *make* it work, which is different.
But you two are more than expert enough to know what *you* want to do.
I don't mean to be insulting to either of you, but you're both making me nervous.
It's all too easy to be idealistic in places where we are required to be pragmatic.
I apologize in advance, since there's no way to soothe my nerves that isn't potentially insulting to experts. Sorry!
P.S. Since I was *just* looking at Daniel's work yesterday, I guess I'm being stupid.
@dougmerritt @vnikolov @jackdaniel @screwlisp the proximity thing is what APL uses, and I think it has turned out to be true that it was a bad idea. None of the modern array languages that are descendants of APL use it.
In APL, the system is called 'comparison tolerance' and is controlled by a global variable called βCT which specifies precision. The fact that they needed a way to control this is proof enough that it's a bad idea.

There are 11 bunnies. This is a reference to how 11 doesn't equal 4 and is safe from vulnerabilities.

Sadly I've not spent much time on it yet? I'm getting discombobulated by trying to be across multiple sites. It looks to be nice and a better fit for some styles of post than DW?
@bobmagicii I would have just let them keep believing that.
@ramsey @bobmagicii encourage them to present that to an internal work security call
