wikipedia is about sourcing information from reliable sources, right? and polls are reliable sources, right? (please don't edit wikipedia based on the results of this poll)
so this article claims that some australians call potato slinkies "chips on a stick". fellow australians: is this true?

He's obviously sincere in his deep concern for all those people wasting all that energy by having enough capacity to run local models but not using it 100% of the time.
...because before LLMs, nobody ever did that. It's completely new and previously unheard of. (Dang kids.)
@fluffy i put that video-acl snippet in with the rate limited video locations. bots were hitting both the static mp4 files and the download endpoint (which does a live ffmpeg remux!)
@scanlime ah, good call on that
these gray eyes still look pretty normal on darker women, but there are really black women with blue eyes and it looks super crazy
@lain if by "pretty normal" you mean "insanely hot".
@spytfyre I actually have eaten mead and venison at a medieval banquet in Oxford eons ago. We were each also given a knife with which to stab the food! ๐
I do have cuddly things (sadly not our much missed beagles, but cuddly wraps) and a great husband who puts up with ALL (well nearly all) my shenanigans. ๐ ๐ ๐ Yes, it's comfort food season. Indeed.
@nomdeb
Ah yes
Food stabbing
Make sure that's dead, good and proper ๐

@scanlime ok no I changed it to just block those IP addresses from accessing /static

@janwedek @animatorpete Party-based systems have obvious problems, but theyโre better than anything else because voters can throw the bums out. There is no โpartyโ in charge of the EC. Thereโs no way to vote in โthe other guysโ.
@gruber @animatorpete But there are no โEuropeanโ parties. Let alone a two party system. The one in charge of the EC is parliament because it ultimately controls money and has to sign off laws. You vote โthe other guysโ literally by voting your MPs for the parliament directly.
I'm being told that British people and my fellow Americans are discovering SCTV for the first time - which is hard for be to believe given John Candy and Eugene Levy are both household names in America, but I digress.
Canadians made me watch it and if you're looking for a recomendation - any of the sketches where John Candy plays a guy named Johnny LaRue are fucking amazing.
@AnarchoNinaWrites SCTV & Kids in the Hall. Both are excellent Canadian TV shows ๐

A question to which I would also like an answer. Someone recommended tuta.com but that also has questions surrounding it.
Are they all going the same way?
I can finally modernize my daily computing and retire those 10 floppy disks I've been storing my digital life on all these years.
@majesty Much was forgotten... that should not have been forgotten... until one day, many thousands of years having passed, the Stick felt ready to move... and so, it again found its way into the hands of mortals...
I try not to over-react to the Internet's Outrages Of The Day, but it should be instantly disqualifying for a CEO of a company that sells reliability and security to tell employees that careful testing is "loser thinking". And if not, it should instantly disqualify that company's products from your consideration.
What the hell, Proton?
@mattblaze why is some American tech bro running a supposedly privacy & security focused company in Europe. This is the sort of DEI that really needs to stop.
Binance said that its $6.3 billion crypto breach "may involve a compromised DevOps engineerโs laptop."
If a single employee's laptop was able to access Binance's systems capable of controlling billions of dollars worth of crypto, that's the *company's* fault โ not the employee's. https://this.weekinsecurity.com/that-big-company-hack-probably-was-not-an-employees-fault/

We use LLM tools in the development of Catodon. If that is something you do not approve of, this may not be the project for you. It works for us ๐บ
