@thatKomputerKat the point of this is learning how to do it

(not that any shop would actually want to work on this bike; i mean, okay, they might remove the pedals, but they wouldn't do any of the rest. it was <$300 _new_.)

In Nantes, France, a huge serpent risez from the sea near the Loire estuary. Completed in 2012 by Huang Yong Ping, Chinese-born French artist.

The sculpture is covered and uncovered at each tide: at low tide it is possible to walk around it, but only the head and the top of the vertebrae stick out at high tide. It is intended to be gradually invaded by vegetation and marine fauna ...

Sorry but the liberals in governments all over don’t act like they believe this at all.

@ariadne what kind of mass spec is it? they're not all equally useful (though i guess a wealthy western uni probably can do what you want)

I'm finally ready to take the Fediverse seriously. Years of tech overreach and enshittification have worn me out.

The final straw came when Meta decided I should pay over $50 a month just to share a few links to my own podcast. That includes a blue check that means nothing anymore (thanks, X). They already sell ads and our data. Now they want my money too.

Bear with me while I adjust. If I pull out old habits, please don't yell at me.
