bolted an action cam to an slr and took a walk in a storm
why is liking your own comment even a thing?
If you like your own posts too much you might go blind.
Dayton-style pizza is definitely a thing, and the local joints best known for serving it when I was a kid are still at it. If you ever visit someone there they will probably take you to one of them, and then you will get to pretend that you like it

Among the best pizza I've ever had : https://www.cleveland19.com/story/30011857/recipe-bar-centos-sunnyside-pizza/
Absolutely delicious! Probably an abomination under God, but so good!
@jalefkowit uhhh I have never heard of this and it looks amazing??

I like what Kagi are doing, even though I don’t pay for their search engine. I’ve been enjoying browsing the Kagi Small Web portal recently.
You know how I’m pretty sure Ilhan Omar’s birth name is Ilhan Omar? The big clue is that her father was a guy named Nur Omar.
I mean, I might boost this post, but I'm sure as hell not going to like it. Am I weird or what?
@briankrebs yeah but the fun kind of weird that makes me smile
@nemo Thanks. I had no idea the nuances....
@briankrebs The Fediverse is sooo complex that, due to its open-source nature, interoperability can even have issues, as can visibility. The experts here know 1,000 times more than me about the nuances. I’m just nerding out, learning, and trying to be an OK netizen and fedizen :D
You're Sir.
SIncerely.
In 1969, Kurt Vonnegut offered this sharp and still remarkably timely critique of American attitudes toward poverty through the voice of Howard W. Campbell Jr. in Slaughterhouse-Five.
The belief that anyone can become wealthy encourages people experiencing poverty to blame themselves rather than question the economic and social structures that shape their circumstances. #books

That doesn’t mean invalidate their comment. The title’s claim is false.

@adwright Anti-DEI, yeah, that's just unequivocally bad.
Indiscrimnately removing anything foreign: Also bad.
But then I listened to the video ... yeah, the Confucious Institutes aren't just "Chinese culture & language promoting groups". As much as I hate it, I have to give him a point there.

The title’s claim is false?
Does Kagi not have a Fediverse Forms search toggle now?
For anyone following along with my shoe saga, I listened to the people telling me I should just take my shoes to a cobbler, so I actually did do that today and they told me that it would be about $100 to replace the soles. 😭
@Alice What? That's wild. I bet I could fix those soles right up with a bit of duct tape and some Aus-Grip.

I’ve always wondered on Star Trek when they have a quick 10 second scene with a very heavily costumed alien or three if they really did all that makeup and stuff for just that one short scene or not. It seems like a huge amount of work.
I know they didn’t film everything in order, but did they maybe film multiple episodes in parallel? Like, maybe get Quark and Morn in costume for a day and film a bunch of bar scenes for different episodes?
@bigzaphod Costumes? What costumes? :)

Target fixation. They tried too hard to avoid it and ended up smashing into it head first.
