"Nvidia board to investigate CEO over relationship with suspected Chinese spy Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Sunday he had been unfaithful to his wife, and he apologized to the company and its customers."
During the #FalklandsWar the Argentinian forces primarily used the Sterling L2A3 submachine gun, which was manufactured in Britain and purchased in large quantities by the junta a mere six months before.
It is moot whether they would have invaded if they did not have this weapon.
A total of 907 people were killed in the Falklands War, including 255 British military personnel, 649 Argentine military personnel, and 3 Falkland Islands civilians.
livecoding dance party here! oh yeahhhhhhhh 💜

I think I accidentally reminded others to "hydrate my spoonie friends." Like we need to be watered. 🌱🚿
... which is maybe also still on point. We are all basically houseplants with complicated emotions.
Just leave us in sunbeams and try not to uproot us too much.
@vlrny reading this after i had to leave my bed because i was thirsty and the drink was still near the couch...
yes, somebody hydrate us... abled friends, make sure you put a drink within reach of your favorite spoonie!

As a social experiment it's obvious by now that "classic" FOSS has failed.
That is, on the terms of the Free Software nor Open Source movements - either one, in a practical sense it has not turned out to be a difference that's mattered at all - the fundamental argument that access to the text of the software will be liberatory for the people subject to the decisions made in that software has proven, with some rare and privileged exceptions, to be false.
The question is what do we do next.

If free software is not about ethics, then what the fuck is its point.
@Gargron are we going to ignore that computers are built with products of child labor in conditions more akin to slavery than anything else?
You don't see that every day! https://www.comicsands.com/desantis-gas-prices-hurting?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=infeed&utm_campaign=linkprogram
@georgetakei
desantis, hasn't changed. It just changed it's tactics! He's still a RACIST POS!
Since we're talking about how NSA discovered that Jensen Huang was being honey trapped in the spring but Trump NOT ONLY let him keep dealing Nvidia chips, but ALSO invited him to the AI summit, here's an exchange from preliminary hearing in Nikki Floris case.
The survey found 0% confusion. One respondent suggested that confusion might be possible among blind consumers.

Basically, Kash Patel, who owns MILLIONS in Shein stock, criminalized Chinese counterintelligence and -- lo and behold -- Trump dealt away America's competitive advantage.

@lynnesbian whats cursed about it? feels very normal to me except for the slashes
@stella yeah it's mostly the slashes. written without them, it'd look normal, but the slashes strongly suggest numbers. kind of like how "ten dollars" looks fine but "$ten" doesn't
This was news to me.
Anatomy of Apple's Personal Knowledge Graph
"Every Mac since macOS 13 (2022) ships a pair of daemons whose only purpose in life is to build a graph about who you are, who you know, how those people are related to you and to each other, how you communicate with them, where you go, what you do and when. In this post, we look into how this system works and give you a tool to peek into your own graph."

@divVerent@vivaldi.net Not quite, but close:
(p, q) = gen_rsa_key(); n = p * q; vanity_n = hide_message(n); vanity_q = vanity_n / p; vanity_q = find_next_prime(vanity_q); return (p, vanity_q);
If you already have one of the primes and want a particular public key, it's possible to calculate what the other "prime" by division. However, the resulting number is very unlikely to actually be a prime or even an integer.
The trick is that since p and q have a similar size, incrementing q will only change the least-significant half of the modulus. Therefore, simply rounding to an integer and finding a nearby prime to the "ideal" q value will preserve a message hidden in the upper half of the modulus.
Something I always have trouble with when learning a topic is when the examples aren't any sort of concrete applications. Like showing how to use pointers with just some generic names, not giving any context to how they'd actually be used.
With this data analytics stuff, I do not like examples where they just generate a dataframe full of random numbers and then do plots with it. I feel like to actually understand the concepts you need something tangible to tie it to.
@Moosader The pothole example gives you another useful question too: are you predicting road damage, or how often people report it? A change in reporting could change the graph without the roads getting worse. That would make a good exercise after fitting the curve.

@fediverse Writing this from Mastodon as a Test. Hello!
What…?? This is a really bad line… did you just say you’re masturbating?!?
