1.5-2 years for the tech debt to really start sinking in was what I predicted so this tracks. Given most whole hog agentic coding started between the first and second quarter of 2026 I would expect this to get more common throughout 2027
@artemist "Lü Bu… the Large Adult Son of the Chinese classics"
Actually wait I haven't read enough of the Chinese classics to know if there is an even larger adult son somewhere
@mcc i was going to suggest sun wukong but apparently he was only 1.3m tall

My bad for using the r-word for offended folks; it was in the heat of the moment

Hi, yes. One of your sources, Hampton Think, is a leftist “proletariat” (self-described; on Hampton Think’s about page). They are an open platform with no fact checking, so:
- Not only are you citing a leftist source, which, saying this by itself, is an ad hominem
- And they have no fact-checking or peer review
- You are using it to justify anti-capitalist and pro-socialist ideologies. This is circular logic; using anti-capitalist cherry-picked proof to reinforce your anti-capitalist ideology. Addendum: What do you think about “In defense of Communism”, your second source? Yeah. Give me some real sources next time.
"Surely you don't mean that ethical considerations should impinge on how we—"
I do.
That's exactly what I mean.
I'm now thinking that I bet peoples fridge sizes are very varied. We have a small under counter fridge. I bet some of you have those monster double door wardrobe size fridges
Alright I'm done. I'm not ranting anymore about disney or hollywood or television.
I have shit to do (and that is making some short videos to advertise the things I do on a small television at designercon.)
(This is what it's like inside my head all the time. This is how I got started today.)
I do think the goal of election systems should be to instill understanding and confidence even in skeptical people. We shouldn’t dismiss folks’ concerns because they’re not experts.
@matthewdgreen.bsky.social Of course not. But I stand by my comment. Just making up things about elections is utterly toxic to democracy.

The ones here on the fediverse support Trump and Putin, the ones in Beijing provided the guns and funding for the October music festival attack which began the war on Gaza. Image attached:

1: of course your using 3 links referening to communist newspapers and others (what did i expect), Having No Evidence
2: go to this: en.wikipedia.org/…/1989_Tiananmen_Square_protests…, then look and read them all (the ones written in english)
3: no all communist and socialist countries, are not actual democracies in being free
4: there is no evidence with the EU encouraging any form of slave labor, that wasn’t in the 1700s, and also many of those companies that exploit are likely gonna become illegal by some day
5: then why are all those soviet union countries and china and communist nations, exploit people, kill them, and many more, if there was thought in it, none of that would happen
6: your fart lingers on
7: communism hides the issues with its economy, capitalism doesn’t

All aid to Gaza immediately ended upon Trump entering office, and Trump bragged about delivering 2,000 LBS bombs that the Biden admin withheld.

@feld@friedcheese.us to be fair "is scraping illegal" is a very different question from "is scraping while rotating IPs illegal" is a VERY VERY different question from "is scraping while using residential proxies illegal"
"even the eef thinks scraping isnt a cfaa violation" and?
scraping is not inherently bad, and it (under reasonable constraints) being legal is a met positive for free software
> to be fair "is scraping illegal" is a very different question from "is scraping while rotating IPs illegal" is a VERY VERY different question from "is scraping while using residential proxies illegal"
Depends. If scraping is not illegal, then rotating IPs or using residential proxies would never be illegal either. Therefore if rotating IPs or residential proxies *is* illegal, then at some level normal scraping must be illegal too.
Otherwise you run into the potential problem of "IPv6 privacy extensions may be illegal", and "my ISP's CGNAT changing my IPv4 address all the time may be illegal" if you access too much content
@ajroach42 I can record a video. I can't write characters anyone would care to watch, to save my life.
@hyc Ah, yes! This is where community comes in.
Do you know any writers? Do you want to know writers? I dunno where you are, but thankfully for Scripts at least it doesn't really matter.

Import your Google Maps reviews to Mangrove
Did you review places via Google Maps in the past? @mangroveReviews@mas.to now offers a way to import your past reviews, which means they will also appear in CoMaps in future maps!
Eh deleted all my reviews after google accepted a claim that my 3* review of one shitty ass shop in Germany was defamation, ignored my response and removed it. Hell, I’d argue it was net positive review (otherwise not wouldn’t be a 3* IMO), but the abuse of the system in Germany is wild and clearly Google doesn’t give a fuck just like the rest of their products.
Anyway still waiting for opportunity to “transfer” all my photos from google maps. Ever since they changed what counts as storage use in drive, I’ve used maps to store useful or nice photos from hikes/parks/nature that I didn’t necessarily wanna keep stored on the phone.
