@neil Stuart Zender's bassline on that inexplicably-included Jamiroquai song is pretty great though.
@hedders I don't remember it, but it is entirely plausible that I zoned out.

Import your Google Maps reviews to Mangrove
Did you review places via Google Maps in the past? @mangroveReviews@mas.to now offers a way to import your past reviews, which means they will also appear in CoMaps in future maps!
- The thing I love about narrating D&D is how it can give you a nice moment to be among friends
+ Nice! How was the adventure last night?
- I sent them to Hell
@berniethewordsmith Not before such pussyblocking you made.
Thanks to everyone who responded! I think using the right knife is important for preparing and eating your food well, for your safety, as well as for all the other reasons you use a knife. I'm going with High.

I have heard that exact framing a lot. It's basically the design profession's revenge on the power that developers have held in the past not understaning that they also made themseves redundant to management.
I can't think of a better illustration of the fundamentally selfish, libertarian foundation of the free software movement than a GNU maintainer loudly affirming that contributions known to be produced by slave labor are welcome without reservation https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2026-11/msg00128.html
Saturday was Anchorage airport's first day this season with a high temperature at or below freezing. This is almost two weeks later than the average over the past 50 years. #akwx #Climate @Climatologist49
@mcc ohh do you mean boot a disk image in a drive directly as the main OS, without a VM? I remember setting up something like this for booting an ISO inside a FAT drive through grub, so it should be possible.
@farseen That
@farseen I dunno. Or keep it mounted, whatever.

@azteclady Oh this is great! I asked around here about emery sand last month, this is very informative.
I have since bought a bottle of the sand and filled my old pin cushion with it, I'll share some pictures in a reply to this post. I'm also working on a bunch of copies to give away to my sewing group this Christmas 😁
@ericphelps @acf @pkal @sstephenson What a terrible take! Yes, if you find out that one of your contributors has a history of misconduct, you can and should reject their future contributions. If their patch disclaims it was made with slave labour, you are fully capable of rejecting it on those grounds! Just because you can't know everything about everyone in advance doesn't mean that nothing should be done! It's perfectly reasonable and possible to just react according to a set of principles!
@Gargron @acf @pkal @sstephenson I think software licenses (like GNU) are an imperfect example of the global test. Many people refuse to deal with certain licenses because they don't agree with its the policies.
And I think the Fediverse is an imperfect example of individual project maintainers deciding. Server maintainers decide who can join and what other servers to block. And I can report anyone I think should be blocked.
I don't think either of these is a terrible take. But whatever.

My bad for using the r-word for offended folks; it was in the heat of the moment

wtf why do 95% of cis women gotta have such high pitched voices are yall just doin it to fuck with me??? because being a cis woman trying to sing classical means i have to be able to sing at the top of fkn staff like a maniac.
sing erda from the ring they said shes the quintessential deep voiced woman role they said
that fucking bitch sings a bunch of E5 the fuck are yall on about
@Xibanya I'm going out on a limb and guess that higher pitch is considered a secondary sexual trait so obviously the higher the pitch the more feminine or something.

stop replacing actual pressable buttons with crappy ‘touch sensitive buttons’ on appliances.
1. they are shit,
2. they don’t work if you have wet/dirty fingers,
3. you have to look to find them as there is no affordance,
4. the markings explaining them wear off leaving an incomprehensible area of actions

And that is maybe the most insidious thing about LLMs: It gives everyone the permission to disrespect everyone else's knowledge and experience while in practice making everyone's position when trying to defend against capital worse.
That is the core economic corrosion: LLMs destroy the foundation for solidarity and cooperation.
