AI is a technofascist project built on pillaging the commons to facilitate a wealth transfer to the ultra wealthy. it is not "just a tool" unless you're somehow immune to moral injury and prepared to completely disregard the political, ethical, and environmental aspects of the thing

Dem ND-Archiv zufolge erschien die Ausgabe am 7.11.1989.

kinda don’t understand the point of soft blocking, especially on social media where everything is Public anyways?
@charlotte@akko.chir.rs
I think soft block in main bluesky is private data on the appview, but unsure right now
It turns out you can’t post Malfoids and Anakin when diesel is $6 a gallon and expect America to vote for you.

@scops I can look into it but it's predicated on getting a Haiku VM working first for testing.
For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

ok blender quastion. i have a mesh with a blendshape that deforms it and another clothing mesh that needs to conform to it with another blendshape that needs to follow the deformation of the first. i know that shrinkwrap will get me some of the way there but i cant figure out how to apply it separately to "both ends" of the blend shape. if that makes sense
"not a quastion without a question word and a question mark" ok. english teachers dni

Fediverse
i feel like lemmy has broken the promise of the fediverse
cross-posted from: feddit.org/post/37748055
… where every platform communicates with every other platform. i’ve rarely ever seen a post from mastodon on here, and even if it’s technically possible, it doesn’t seem that it happens very often.
likewise, i’ve rarely if ever seen a post from lemmy on mastodon. these two platforms just don’t seem to interact much.
the fediverse is already very small. fragmenting it even further by having multiple services that basically don’t talk to each other is not good. we need to either (a) aggressively find a way to bridge certain lemmy communities to be more visible on mastodon, especially location-based communities, or (b) i think that i’ll have to decide to only use mastodon in the future, because that’s where all my irl-friends are (yes i have those too, i do not only exist in a terminally online state 😊 and because mastodon is bigger already and that’s why i think that it has a bigger chance of taking off.
so, what do i suggest should happen?
especially for location-based communities (australia, london, darmstadt, …) it should be more probable for people living in these locations to draw use out of the lemmy community. maybe it’s just a question of showing lemmy content from these communities on mastodon home pages, or auto-subscribing mastodon users to nearby lemmy communities. something like that.
Not so sure, i could subscribe from my Piefed account to Peertube channels, and get their videos in my feed. Im pretty sure it works from Lemmy too. And it feels like the Fediverse in action to me !
this would be a dank album cover
Octopus: we are all cool and modern! APIs!
Also Octopus: you need to fill out this PDF. You need to select which options apply to you (oh, the PDF is not a form. You can't actually select anything - hope you have a PDF mark-up tool! Or why not print it and scan it?!), and add your account number and address (there is no area for this, so just put it in some random whitespace in the PDF and hope that that is what we mean). Yes, this just duplicates everything that you have already sent us by email.
Me: le sigh. But at least they replied promptly this time.
