Android Headlines had the same date: "pre-order ship dates are set for January 25, 2027." Macworld added, "Your order will probably ship before then as Apple ramps up production." The live blog's lines are from launch day, more than two weeks ago.

For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.

How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

It's been a while since I've last looked into this code, so I mainly used tonight to orient myself and annotate where to make changes. I'm too tired now to write the actual code, so this will be a task for tomorrow, if time allows.

And I noticed that Decay and Release need to take the Sustain level into account; they cannot solely be implemented by multiplying with the "f" factor. It should be:

Decay: output = sample * (sustainlevel + (1-sustainlevel) * f)
Release: output = sample * sustainlevel * f

my favorite kind of UI interaction is when a menu is only accessible by hovering over some completely redundant repetitive content like a profile picture that takes up space and clutters the UI and has absolutely no obvious markings indicating that it's actually a tapestry hiding a menu behind it

there's an archaeology mod that's basically the same as the official archaeology UI but with slightly more racist item icons
