I'm looking for recommendations to a new #sewing machine (up to 500eur).
What I'm looking for:
- good speed control
- selectable needle stop
- support for twin needles
- comes with a variety of feet (button holes, zipers, etc)
- threading helper
- thread cutter
- reachable reverse button (near the needle)
- LED light
- should work with thicker fabrics like denim, etc
I don't need a million different stitch types or embroidery functions.
@dec_hl I’m not sure about the price but I can recommend Bernina. My first one was a gift from an elderly aunt, had been her wedding present 60 years earlier, and it was still perfect. I bought another Bernina because I wanted some modern features and it’s been a lot to use for 20 years, no issues, a beautiful machine.

Whenever I stay in a hotel I look up the TV Hotel Mode Unlock Code, go in to the channel guide and delete GB News. It's even easier to do in an AirBnB. It's a very satisfying feeling. I recommend it.

Today I got my name on a cup for the first time.
@bluegreenandfree I'm using Thunderbird... not yet Ai-en***tified, but will try something else if they go that route.
@ai6yr So far have quickly gotten a lot of recs for Thunderbird, and for now that is what I am using on mobile. It is indeed pretty intuitive and nice so far. But yeah, a bit sus about it (and K-9 Mail) due to the Mozilla factor.

Will be intrigued to see if Opportunity walk the talk on this. But as well as being a clever pre-negotiation posture, this comes across as more principled than Dunne or Peters' attitude to holding the casting votes, where they would definitely be in government whoever was leading it.
The whole situation reminds me so much of Key not quite needing the Māori parties votes in 2011 (or was it 2008, or 2014?). Except it looks like TOP are clever enough not to let themselves be token add-ons.
