I know it can be pretty disheartening as a developer who spent years perfecting the craft and building a fediverse platform, only to see new vibe coded platforms emerge.
But just remember that people can tell, and that vibe coders typically do not possess the knowledge or skills to scale their platform to hundreds, thousands or millions of users without writing a prompt to "fix bugs".
Our human made platforms will continue to thrive, increasingly so, as people discover this.

I'm not even mad at all the people who criticized me for working on Loops and not Pixelfed.
I feel bad for letting them down, but I promised our Kickstarter backers, and NLnet that I would build Loops as a federated and fully open source platform.
So I did.
Now I'm back to focusing on Pixelfed, we shipped 11 huge updates in 2 months, squashing bugs, delivering long awaited feature requests and making account migration work.
Now it's your turn to tell me how I can improve Pixelfed 👀

@josh Yeah, I wouldn't trust those lol. When it comes to status pages or even devops tools, you don't need gradients and "modern" fonts, rather it should focus on the needs of who is running and consuming it.
That's why I believe vibe coded fedi platforms won't grow like the OGs, polish only goes so far, knowledge about databases, data structures and caching is fundamental to being able to serve thousands of concurrent users. I don't think many of them realize that.

One thing to about all these article that report that Schumer has enough Democratic Senator votes to be elected Majority Leader is that none of them actually mention which Senators actually are supporting him.
On the other hand there are many articles about who is not supporting Schumer that list those who are publicly rejecting his leadership.
Where is all this support? Let's name names. This can not happen in the dark. Senators now need to go on the record.

@johnmclear Is that with solar as well? We've just got a single Powerwall bit had it positioned so we can add another. At the moment, solar is negligible, and our usage means we've emptied the battery down to 5% (minimum) by ~17:00 😕
I was entertained today by watching a hawk try unsuccessfully to hunt a squirrel. With all the bad crap happening around the world, it gave some relief to see the little guy escape from the clutches of a predator. I shared some roasted unsalted nuts and dried bananas with him.
@fesshole A hawk losing a footrace to a squirrel is the underdog story the news cycle desperately needed. Somewhere the squirrel is now doing a press tour and the hawk's agent is demanding a rematch on neutral turf.
