It’s interesting, I feel like the voice in my head intuitively feels like it is *coming from* inside my head, like between my ears.
But is that just a societal thing because I know what the brain is? I was just randomly thinking about ancient societies with a cardiocentric point of view like Ancient China and Egypt, and how they might’ve experienced it. I suppose it probably has to be, but never thought about it before.
@jonah That's a really interesting thought, I've never thought about that before. I have also never heard of the word "cardiocentric" before, and I'm in love(lol!) with it! It's a brilliant word! Is that an academic/official term?

Blakes 7: Gambit (20 March 1979). "Speed chess!" Visually this is either incredible or utterly bizarre, but the aesthetics of the future is always an interesting topic.
What should a Pleasure Planet look like? Freedom City is the destination for the Liberator crew in this episode, and it's a gaudy pantomime of Weimar Berlin, Regency London and the Wild West. Powdered wigs and black fedoras, pierrots and ringmasters, Beau Brummell and Butch Cassidy. Everyone drinks Green Midori sprawled on chaises longues. And there are still ashtrays and party poppers in the far future.
But why wouldn't there be? We don't really have a shorthand visual look for future hedonism, because we keep imaging the future as utilitarian, military or agrarian. The idea of fun in the future, let alone sex and booze and cigarillos isn't something we know how to show. From Logan's Run to Buck Rogers we think of it as a disco with apps. Kubrick possibly had the strongest aesthetic with the Korova Milkbar, but even that has an element of kitsch.
So I think this episode is honest: future pleasure is backwards looking, the erotic and the archaic are conjoined. If it looks silly it's because we think the Dionysian is silly and in the future it must be even sillier.
Anomaly detected.
Thanks for helping us spread the word, and goodbye for now.

And if you want to carry our toys, or our comic books, or our video games (or our original fiction, or our coffee, or our USB video discs, or our LPs and Cassettes or ... ) in your retail location, hit me up. I'll get you a price sheet.
And if you want to learn how to do these things yourself, I'm happy to explain it. We'll write a book about it all eventually, but until then I'm down to chat. There's no magic here, no secret sauce, just a lot of hard work and a little luck and a good community.
I hate when people say "pie hole" or "cake hole" because I don't know if they're talking about a mouth hole or butt hole.
A lot of dems are saying that prosecuting the Trump administration is about justice not retribution and I just want to make clear that for me it is about retribution and getting even and that's completely fine, they are fascists who don't deserve mercy.

Mich überfordert schon die Sitzkissen reinnehmen. Auch wenn niemand mehr wirklich draußen sitzt.

“It now seems pretty clear that Scott Colom is going to be the next senator from the state of Mississippi – not called yet but getting close. But one striking thing about the claims of victory from Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, which manage to be both aggressive and half-hearted, is that as far as I can tell she has yet to appear in public since election day.”

Things To Come (1976). Sci-fi Seventies sexploitation with a side order of radical politics. It's Logan's Run meets Westworld, having read The Machine Stops on the way. But the budget is good, though the acting, erm, isn't.
America is a state controlled dystopia of tediousness,
