This is a new hashtag on me, a UK thing I guess, but if wild bighorn sheep count, I think I can play #DefaidodonDay. #GetOutside #AltText
@jonah yessssss
Just came across this, a place where people get can and give a warm coat to others for free♥️
@stux They have something like this in Richmond, Virginia too. A local dry cleaning chain does this in their locations: https://www.wtvr.com/on-air/virginia-this-morning/gearing-up-for-coats-for-kids-2026-with-puritan-cleaners
Every now and again I open LinkedIn to see if I have any messages and this is what I have seen recently:
- I was impacted by layoffs and I’m looking for work
- Interacting with my autistic son taught me how to better communicate with AI agents
- I have decided to leave the tech industry to become a baker
- (some incomprehensible 500 word post obviously written by AI patting the poster on the back)
- My ex left me so I built a dating startup
- (screenshot from X)
@Mabande This is the winning reply. 🏆 @TheBreadmonkey
Speaking of which, I need a lawyer to draft a standard contract and anti-AI clause for my game studio as a whole. Working with artists and programmers all over the world and several continents at this point, but I am based in New York City. Can anyone help/recommend someone? #GetFediHired #indiedev #gamedev
Choir practice?

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.
Looking for tracker music (and maybe some chiptune) recommendations.
Now that I'm back in the trenches, I need a proper soundtrack for writing assembly code. I've been bumping a lot of Purple Motion and Lizardking lately. Two names I remember from back in the day. But I need more variety. I'd love to hear what your favorite jams are!
@DarkWebInformer It is incredible how the HR discipline so consistently attracts, and retains, utterly brainless husks of people who revel in procedure for procedure's sake yet crumble under the slightest hint of scrutiny. Send them all off in the B-Arc! To the space goat with them!
@chfkch I get that, but what do two "main" addresses mean?
@CyReVolt
Backup contact address i guess. "Main" is confusing here, yes.

@Vicinus@piefed.zip - Didn’t want to post this twice and figured you might miss it considering how deep this conversation is.

How votes are viewed is a user setting, letting anyone choose if they want combined, separate, or a percentage. Is this something you would also like settable as a global instance default choice?
Such a person should have access to a “connectivity health” monitoring tool yes, but I don’t see why it would need to be on a per-post basis. Not having hosted an instance myself, I would naively hope that such a tool already exists, even if it is not graphical?
We mostly use Grafna
Also I occasionally search for PyLova and I love reading this comment chain when I do, thanks for contributing so many ideas.
Probably would have missed it. Appreciate the tag 😊

Honestly, as long as I can easily enable it, it doesn’t matter to me if everyone has it by default (only viewed your instance without logging in). Might be worth a user poll, but I have no idea how wanted that feature is.
FYI I altered my [FR] on Codeburg to reflect you’d already implementing the feature.

Link doesn’t work, but I think I know what it’ll look like.
Given both your responses, it seems I didn’t conveyed the idea well to OpenStars. My understanding is that an instance sends to the appropriate “hosting instance” a post or comment. My thought is, if it doesn’t already happen, have the “hosting instance” send an ‘acknowledgement’ back to the sending instance. Then, if the comment has been ‘acknowledged’, the sending instance would put an indicator on the comment (check mark or something) to show “yes, my user, your activity successfully arrived at it’s destination.”
In my mind, this wouldn’t be every instance checking every other instance’s user’s activity to make sure it federated properly. This would be an instance confirming things for only its own users.
Hopefully that makes sense. I graphical up-time graph is probably nice to have too. I was going to say those are available on fediverse measurement sites, but with a quick look, it seems like that was a Fediverse-Observer (RIP) only feature.

Happy to help and thanks for being so responsive, open-minded, and just all around great :)
Ich müsste eigentlich abwaschen, aber das macht ja überhaupt keinen Spaß.

HR has officially found a way to make a labor shortage out of a punctuation mark.
This is my @Codeberg activity graph. Can you tell when we moved Roto to it?
It's been 8 months already and we're not regretting it at all. It's been really nice!
Thank you Codeberg devs! ❤️
