@saramg Is this why coders are always "rubber-ducking"?

I have no expectations of privacy on any social media, including this one. I’m here to yell my very important opinions at anyone who’ll listen.
Speaking of which, I need a lawyer to draft a standard contract and anti-AI clause for my game studio as a whole. Working with artists and programmers all over the world and several continents at this point, but I am based in New York City. Can anyone help/recommend someone? #GetFediHired #indiedev #gamedev
They really just can't even help themselves but pretend these are normal respectable people.
@joby serious question, would you really want the New York Times to write what you wrote, outside the opinion section?
Noting that I agree with your assessment of Stephen Miller!
@boreal_stars Ah ouais, ok.

confused how anyone could think anything otherwise
Because you can’t see them by default. Just because there are lots of techies on here doesn’t mean everyone thinks about how it all works.
I think it’s much better to make it very obvious that votes are public so new users don’t accidentally think they’re anonymous.
Everyone says there's more fish in the sea but it was really hard to catch my last fish and that fish took my last hotdog so NOW what?
@Alice Have you tried lake fishing? 🐟

@efi are they good or bad
They are cracking down at work and everyone needs to wear their ID badge. The reasons are sensible enough, there have been bomb threats at schools around NYC so all of the schools are trying to be more secure.
But, I think like most people I *detest* lanyards.
I've settled on a belt clip but thought I'd ask others who suffer under the ID badge wear it. Do you have a method you like?
@futurebird a guy with a spouse with great taste wore their badge clipped to a "lanyard" made of vintage ties. It sat flat against their chest and wide around the neck. Two ties sewed together, i think. I was always very envious. It just looked so sharp and distinctive.
Personally i wore the retractable belt clip one.
Pixelfed.social now has a status page again!
BetterStack wanted a ridiculous amount of money per month, so `laravel new ...` it was 😎
@AugierLe42e On les Compostes, mangez pas ces trucs là, on sait pas ce que ça mange ! @parleur

That’s understandable; to me though, the user tracking is going to happen. If not votes then comments, if not comments the how long you stayed per page or some other engagement metric.
These days you almost have to assume an adversarial relationship with the internet. You have to assume you’re being aggressively tracked and profiles built and, if it’s part of your threat model, take steps to obfuscate that.
I totally support someone just lurking and not commenting or voting, especially if they’re doing it for OPSEC reasons. I also don’t have a huge issue with people having alt accounts for different purposes and might even encourage it, again for OPSEC reasons.
A solid argument could be made for removing voting completely and I’m not sure I’d disagree with it; but due to the nature of federation if there’s voting, it’ll be public.
@Migueldeicaza Alright, here you go! This is the agent's writeup, which I sanity checked. https://gist.github.com/irskep/4feac886fb708214379223c05a6d56e6
I didn't use the Xogot GUI at all. Having worked with Godot + Codex for a few months, I wanted to see if the xo + Xogot workflow was more efficient. It definitely was! And deploying to my iPhone was a breeze.
The high level prompt amounted to "port a game from JS to Godot." Took about 36 hours.
@irskep this feedback was brilliant! Every issue addressed and shipped.
Thank you!
Remembering that time I overheard a little girl in an elevator say “poop,” and her mom told her that word wasn’t appropriate in public.
The mother then asked the girl where it was okay to use the word, and the girl loudly proclaimed “A WITCH’S DUNGEON!”
@justine wow! chic!
Thank you!
