@mcc at the zoo. That’s sorta real life. I guess it’s also sorta not.

@EugestShirley
I love that they wrote down the unwritten rules

@RnDanger @EugestShirley @trs I N95 mask and wear gloves, lol. Can be gross and stuff can be grungy. (washed clothing, etc. but the non-clothing stuff can be rough sometimes...). The folks I see there apparently spend hours there hunting for brands or specific fashions... I don't have the eye for it, I just look for raw materials for projects. (cables / pans / sheets / etc.). I would snag a wool blanket if I saw one to try to dye. I would also snag the right color new t-shirt to re-cut now that I know how to do that, but would have to be good quality. Saw two sewing machines when i was there, but just very low quality ones so passed 'em up.
Researcher Derik Kauffman discovered that #Apple maintains a hidden, undisclosed multilingual list of approximately 100,000 words and phrases that its iPhone keyboard blocks from autocomplete and swipe-typing suggestions. This list, referred to as a digital "#greylist," does not prevent users from manually typing these terms but makes them difficult to enter via predictive or spoken features.
Some #censored words include slurs, swear words, and references to drugs, sex, and violence (e.g., "fuck," "al-Qaeda," "Auschwitz"), derogatory or critical political slogans such as "dictator Trump," "sleepy Joe," "right wing conspiracy," "Tibetan independence," and "United Ireland."
Different languages have specific blocked terms, such as "Modi braggart" in Hindi, "immigration too high" in French, and "occupied territories" in Hebrew.

@stojg True though in Wellington at least you could walk like 10ish minutes to a regular bus. But I have been spoiled by Christchurch which has multiple bus routes go to the airport.

Colorado 4th district, with 95% counted. It's been within a percent for the majority of the counting, hope it holds.

A1b. I have CoMaps and OSMAnd, but I find their user interface cryptic and impossible to get directions with. 🤷 I don't know why, but I don't understand them.
Same. I kept CoMaps but finally deleted OSMAND because it was just crazy and retina burning. I don't really understand, this is a solved problem. Look at Apple Maps, or even Mapquest. Then again I've always felt Google maps was crazy and confusing and never used it.

People are asking for photo sharing support on Loops, ngl it wouldn’t be that difficult to support 🤔
@dansup sharing loops and pixfed posts in DMs of each app ❤️❤️

As planned Casuarina Linux package updates continued until the end of October, but now that time has come to migrate my primary system to Chimera Linux. I've done that today, and built my preferred COSMIC desktop. I have `/home` on a ZFS pool so once the base system and packages are installed most settings carry over automatically.
Snow in the forecast next week. It cracked 75°F (~24°C) last week.

That’s kind of neat, but why would it matter if your votes do or don’t federate?

Lemvotes shows votes. So, it’s not private.

Data has to federate, so nothing is going to really be private like you mention. I think it’s unreasonable to expect anything otherwise. I don’t see a point to hiding votes because of this. If someone starts stalking or harassing their voters for some reason, have a reporting system and handle that.

Not at all, and I believe that’s the point.

They’re not private at all, I’ve never been under the illusion that they were.
I like it, have some guts, stand on business. If people want to downvote they should be willing to attach their name to it, internet points are fake anyway.
