From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.

My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?

For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.

Not at all, and I believe that’s the point.

@littlefox depends on the nature of the bite and where

@jeridansky Also check out Costco, which often has great quality clothes for great prices. But limited choices - then again maybe that's what you want. 😊 https://www.costco.com/womens-clothing.html

@arrrg Did they bring The Expanse back, or is this the older show that you found atrocious?

For this week’s Disquiet Junto musical prompt, we were given four 15-minute blocks of time in which to create and produce an original composition. I went over time by just a few minutes but made something I think is powerful.

A spoken word improvisation reimagining Edmund Berkeley’s “Parable of the Locksmith” as a story of teenage suicide. Content warning obviously.

Me personally I would say that private votes are better if possible. But you should be able to filter when you’re logged in what you upvoted and downvoted. That’s how I would like it ideally.

@ajroach42 The Expanse is atrocious. Carrie is actually pretty good even though I'm not the target demo. Most new stuff kind of sucks.

Its like sitting near a window basically, people on the sidewalk are gonna have trouble seeing you with just their eyes (i mean like most sidewalks are quite far away to the window because of front yards) but anyone could get a camera with zoom lens and see your face.

@ajroach42 the idea is to distribute code printed / copied onto paper.

paper archives longer than any other medium.

the code also has to be simple and easy to understand.

these machines will come with a BASIC interpreter, and will have 64KB of RAM -- they're gonna be based on the RP2040, and will be running the Arduino core.

lots of links are probably necessary at this point.

this is the BASIC:

not. at all. i consider anything i put here akin to standing on my nearest street corner during rush hour, shouting into the darkness

confused how anyone could think anything otherwise.

@ai6yr wow they got away with 10 entire RTX 5090's?

@ariadne looks like bites wouldn't be .. hated? XD

Never kill yourself, you have to survive to see Stephen Miller go to prison.

@ai6yr @Viss After college was working at a B&N near IBM. Got a call from person worked at software/mapping company of some sort, they were looking to branch into facial forensic reconstruction with their software for use on skulls. With my Anthro background, 2 of my profs did forensic work for state & knew other specialist one BCA guy did the erasers for depth + clay. Anyway they lucked out w getting me when they called. Contacted Anthro prof and got some book titles to help them.
