@ai6yr I'm sorry to report that doesn't work.
I have an authentic English accent and period clothes. Instead of helping me with buttonholes, I just started eyeletting everything for lacing.
As I said, this is a time to act.
If you donate to the Gender Justice League this weekend and share a screenshot here, @crazy4pi314 and I will match your donation, up to a cap of $1,000.
If you can do so, please also get your employer to match your donation.
Please give, boost, and just in general stand up to protect kids in Washington state.
I’ve read a lot about the novel Middlemarch while reading the novel Middlemarch, and one thing scholarship doesn’t mention very often is how the book really does double as strength training when you’re walking to a café

not. at all. i consider anything i put here akin to standing on my nearest street corner during rush hour, shouting into the darkness
confused how anyone could think anything otherwise.

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.
@ai6yr
If I remember correctly, Robinson Crusoe said he never did master making pants. So you are doing just fine.
@eugeneparnell @ai6yr Yes. The on further away looks like ivy to me. Ivy indoors? I wouldn't be surprised if that one were plastic.
And the one in the foreground? Ok, Epipremnum aureum does grow pretty well indoors. But it does this without needing much of a care. (If it´s not also plastic.)
@mythlfrythtyg @eugeneparnell It's plastic... it's got to be plastic.
Literally 1 minute later... okay, it's not nice like all your new fangled automatic machines, but sure is neater than my hand attempt, lol. #sewing

Its like sitting near a window basically, people on the sidewalk are gonna have trouble seeing you with just their eyes (i mean like most sidewalks are quite far away to the window because of front yards) but anyone could get a camera with zoom lens and see your face.

the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons
That’s a terrible, horrible, no-good, really bad excuse for not releasing the code. Better be upfront and admit that you don’t want to share the code.
Media loads from the source.
This might actually be a problem. If your instance gets popular, you might end up overloading a remote server. Add a proper caching proxy, or even better look into content-addressable systems to allow multiple servers to share the load.
One of the ways Blackboard and similar EduWare made the world a worse place is locking up syllabi and course notes and handouts that an interested learner used to be able to find and get off professors' personal pages at the university.
@ai6yr You can get an infection. Ask me how I know…..😆
Consider unfollowing that person that always leaves you feeling worse about things.
@filmfreak75 yeah I added support for those. Glad it’s working.
@bigzaphod thank you!
