@TheBreadmonkey sorry I mislayed my glasses, I thought you said toilet duck.
@TheBreadmonkey yes I'm also interested in getting a cyberduck 👍

@evan yes, I think the digital sovereignty ship has sailed (or some other more apt metaphor) and is unlikely to reverse course. The US unfriendliness really exposed how much relied on goodwill and how vulnerable things were when it evaporated.
I think the challenge, globally, will be finding the balance between being resilient to bad actors without being overly fragmented and loosing the benefits of common platforms and networks.
@x1101 I mean, that's what we all say now. But after 6 or 10 years of a loveable Obama-like administration, is there a reversion to the mean? That's plenty of time for expensive EU money pit project to face plant, and Big Tech pseudo-sovereign products to become the norm. I think it's easy to forget with the distance of time.

@davidrevoy Where's the 'KaPop!'?"
I'm a guitarist who has worked for years to develop a sound and style that has been praised for its inventiveness and originality. I've been making videos online for a decade and the thing I've found makes the biggest difference to my views is whether or not I'm wearing a bra.

Lots of people are getting pissed at it being closed source. I get that it isn’t the norm. But, there are closed-source paid software on the Fediverse. This isn’t anything new. Also, there’s ways to disagree and share opinions without being hostile - we are not children here nor teenagers lacking a fully developed brain

They already have that too, screen sharing included. Most clients work with it just fine.
Just getting back from Costco, explaining to Mrs. Volts that it makes more sense to focus on all the dumb shit I *didn't* buy.
The ancient delta quadrant. That reminds me. Did anyone ever go back to check on Happileigh, Merrileigh, and Burt? 🦎 🦎 🦎 (VOY s2e15)

I heard they started a lounge act. 🎤
Hmm, estate sale ad. My interpretation is that the person here was an attorney, had no hobbies, and spent their entire life working, and thus the estate sale will be boring and not worth it. (because, no hobbies).
@ai6yr undoubtedly an attorney - book on the table looks to be a book called "familiar quotations".
I really hope when I go I leave something more exciting on the bedside table.
For anyone interested in follower numbers, I don't recommend saying you're interested in getting a cybertruck
Hahahaha, people unfollowed you for that??
*watches as the joke sails right over peoples' heads
