Hey lovely people, no market post today. It's head cold central at basecamp Penney.
If you're you're watching all the Kiwi election whatnot like me, fingers and toes crossed that we see a change for the positive here in Aotearoa by tomorrow morning. Let's vote the current piles of nonsense out.

KRCC (Colorado): Couple is accused of stealing millions of gallons of water from Palmer Lake
"...The water was found to have been diverted through a buried pipe to the Toberts’ property. Terry Tolbert, who owns Mission Plumbing & Heating, owns a master plumbing license. That’s according to the company website...."

I get take down requests because this shithead thinks he deserves privacy while taking it away from everyone else
Meanwhile, Google is doxxing him without any problem
Funny how that works uh
lol, just typing in 2588 in Google Maps surfaces that address up as the first suggestion, so it's a common search currently.
I believe we were promised flying laptops. Where are my flying laptops? #Technology.
@tewha Just get a Thinkpad with a hard enough compile, the fans'll make it fly, or at least be thrown off your lap when it exceeds the temperature of the Sun.
Elevating Stephen Miller is an unambiguous signal: Trump wants to be even worse in the final two years of his term.
Also, if Trump’s sole obsession is renovations and interior design, it leaves Miller to oversee the executive branch until January 2029 — which is every bit as scary as it sounds.

I keep buying and returning Macs. I get frustrated with Linux, try switching, then get frustrated with the Mac in short order. I have a problem.
@thestrangelet sounds like you just think computers suck.
To be fair, you're not totally wrong.

this might be the rudest meme i've seen all year
so naturally i'm sharing it everywhere.
I'm a guitarist who has worked for years to develop a sound and style that has been praised for its inventiveness and originality. I've been making videos online for a decade and the thing I've found makes the biggest difference to my views is whether or not I'm wearing a bra.

Does any of you know any fediverse federation maps?
Are there any maps showing which instances federate which others? Like those maps with nodes and connections
It’s for no particular reason, I’m just curious >.<

Fedigest, a hand-picked front page for Lemmy, PieFed and Mbin
Made a thing. Fedigest is a self-hosted site where you pick posts from anywhere in the threadiverse, write a few lines about why they’re worth reading, and publish them as one front page.
Comments are pulled live from the original thread. Want to vote or reply? Enter your home instance once, it gets saved in your browser, and from then on every post takes you straight to the same post on your own instance. It can also follow communities and add new posts automatically.
Comes with 15 themes (light/dark pairs follow your device, and there’s a terminal one with an old PC font), and you can make your own with a live preview.
Runs as one Docker container, SQLite inside. Still early, version 0.1.3. Built with help from an LLM.

Code: https://github.com/DaDosDude/Fedigest
Feedback welcome.

After I resigned from #LaRepubblica to keep working on #WikiLeaks,I started working for the Italian daily #FattoQuotidiano, the only major daily which is NOT owned by oligarchs and is #antiWar, a billionaire (who feel upset by our articles abt him) is trying to buy it. NO DICE

Nope, my actual thoughts, and I'm saying this as someone who's waiting for the response from my LIR so I can get my ASN and PI block, so I'm clearly not an anti-iov6 extremist 😜
@ramona I think ping ff02::1%eth0 is already worth it in a LAN situation. :)
