For those who are curious, streaming things like #monsterdon into #VRChat works from all of the following:

- archive.org
- an S3 service (I used backblaze b2)
- Peertube

I'm using the Video Download Helper browser extension to make it easy to get the url of the actual video not the page, and then using bit.ly to make a short url I can actually type on the virtual keyboard.

As long as the video's in a supported format you should be good.

@astraluma okay I’m in

@mcc @hyc from what I’m reading zst is a file like zip but far less well supported. It could be anything inside. My first guess is the contents are like a tarball, a bunch of files though I don’t have experience to say if it only supports a single file. Maybe it’s neither a disk image or a disc image. I mean nether a disk or iso.
Maybe file -Z could help.
I feel like I’m missing something so sorry if I am.

Randomly found exactly the thing I was looking for at an op shop

How cool is that?

From the moment I finished the manuscript, I knew how the cover art had to look...a mirror of the first with some obvious differences. 2/7

@mcc ISO image is read-only boot media and "disk image" is mutable storage media which may or may involve a boot volume, "obviously"

THE SUMMER QUEEN (1990)
Acrylic on Panel - 36” x 24”

I was glad to learn that Joan Vinge was writing a sequel to The Snow Queen, and even more so when I got a call from Warner Books for the cover assignment. 1/7

@attoparsec That's very cool and looks quite complicated but... um... what is it used for?

@chartier This is the only thing I saw on it. https://youtu.be/1XxNXkOHKZw

@stefan @LRRRonEarth will gladly fill the void methinks

Upgraded this Mastodon instance from 4.7.5 to 5.0.0-beta.1. Some sneaky version upgrades necessary, but I made it through. Lost the Tangerine UI, but not worried about it right now.

Don't know if this was just me, but after the update I wasn't able to get to the Admin areas without logging out and back in again on my Admin account.

Pigs. Forcing other pigs into servitude. Pretty much how Animal Farm should have ended. Merry Christmas.

Fluxer has federation on their roadmap;, I’ll be waiting for their implementation.

I don’t know about 100%, but I get the feeling a lot of it is vibe coded.

You can check the code frequency and contributors (there is only one, the maintainer).
