TechCrunch: Almost no one uses AI agents to book their Uber, company says
"...Uber’s chief financial officer, Balaji Krishnamurthy, told Wall Street analysts on the call that the company handled around 320 million trips and orders across Uber and Uber Eats during the week of Halloween, but only 500 Uber Eats orders were placed by an AI agent...."

@ai6yr I’m by no means an expert, but why would AI agents need food delivered? 🤔
Feels like the right mug this morning.
@gruber I’ve used that mug almost everyday since I got it.

Corporate Democrats who have no intention of delivering progressive policy still hold power.
Democrats who indulged in bigoted rhetoric still hold power.
Democrats who ran against progressive candidates using right-wing talking points still hold power.
Democrats who support ICE still hold power.
98% of congress still takes AIPAC money.
Let this radicalize you.
We keep going.
@danirabbit who are the two holdouts?
NPR: Elon Musk will face scrutiny from Democrats after midterms
"...With a Democratic majority in Congress, the billionaire, who controls Tesla and SpaceX, will likely face investigations into the billions of dollars of government contracts his companies have been awarded since President Trump returned to office and his role leading the Department of Government Efficiency at the beginning of Trump's second term.
Musk gave more than $445 million to Republican candidates, political action committees and outside groups, according to federal election filings analyzed by OpenSecrets, a nonprofit that tracks campaign spending. That makes him the top donor in the midterms and among the very largest political donors in American history...."

@stalbaum Thinking outside the box: What if we started a GoFundMe to pay Schumer to quit. We can reach out to his team to see what kind of price it would take. The bribery is already out in the open, so let's play the game!

And so it begins…
@majorlinux do you want vengeance, or do you want people's lives to be improved?
Here's a thing on my printmaking website that talks a bit about it and shows some examples!

@makingarecord this is too cool, entirely too cool. i hope the project was as fun and satisfying as it looks! and great job looking natural and non-chalant for the b-roll, haha
Want to collect some thoughts: What are some ways you would say life is better now compared to 25 years ago?
Replies and boosts appreciated <3
@ThorsdaysChild looking forward to meeting you! You'll have to identify yourself to me 🙂
@lightweight
Ditto, I will 🙂
Maybe it says bad things about my self-discipline but today was a good day to go out and enjoy the (troublingly unseasonal) weather instead of doing work
@aurynn
I sometimes cheat and add things to the todo list after I’ve done them, so I can cross them off and feel accomplished!
@ulf oh I do that too, but it’s because I need to remember that I didn’t forget to do it
@OneFluffyBoi Respectfully, the Dem Congress will demoralize the base so much they won't want to turn out. Chuck & Hakeem have already begun. If the choices in '28 are Kamala and AOC, and the donors kneecap AOC as they did Bernie, well, Kamala is a genocide conservative who doesn't inspire, and the base won't turn out. Same with Newsome. Maybe Pritzker?
Vance (Thiel) can totally win.
@amcooper Oh, the Dems are definitely going to be their usual controlled opposition selves, but the median voter will blame the current bad vibes on the incumbent and will consequently vote for the other guy. Like in the current cycle, the Dems spent the past 2 years actively enabling the worst aspects of the Trump administration and tanking their party's approval rating to embarrassing lows, yet they still just saw success in the midterms. When both of the options are shit, they simply vote for the other guy. While Trump is in office, that works in the Dem's favor. Once he's out, it's going to work against them.
I also personally don't think that Vance has the sauce to command Trump's supporters.
@mcc anecdata and related to your bsky post about framing: I've had success convincing family that these ballot measures are 'gross and weird' by taking the angle that the state has no reason to see what's under a child's clothing. The framing 'it's about fairness in sports' is surprisingly effective but it is equally effective to change that framing.
I ordered some A4 prints and some packing tubes. I want to try selling some of my photos (and looks like it’s going to be by hand).
