The car is drivable, hit at about 40-50kph as I was coming down a (notorious) hill but a number of cracks in the front bumper, the hood is skewed slightly, possibly slightly crumpled, and the headlights is mis-aligned.
Full size deer, so I’m honestly surprised there isn’t more damage.
*sigh* not what I wanted to happen today….in many ways.
I really really don’t like being responsible for the death of another being. 🥺
Also… this is obviously my main mode of transport to/from work and #doordash. And yes, I was dashing at the time (thankfully going to a new order, not delivering)

CNN projects James Talarico has won the open Texas US Senate seat, soundly defeating Ken Paxton.
@danirabbit As someone not too deep into US politics, I've seen lots of memes about HRT and trans rights specifically about Texas turning blue, not about the other states. Is this because the Dem candidate is actually one of the few who are outspoken about trans rights or just because the Rep incumbent was so terrible?
@ljrk Yeah I was just meme-ing. Talarico made a statement about god being outside of gender in like 2021 and people freaked out even though this is like not super controversial theology from my understanding.
But also yes Texas has been especially bad on trans rights. I personally know someone who fled Texas to protect their trans child.
So I think it’s easy to just take the piss out of stupid transphobes

Loss for conservative, Heritage-linked pro-AI group Alliance for a Better Future as Dem Adam Hamilton wins against Roger Marshall in Kansas Senate race. It was a relatively small outlay: just $81,000 for an ad promoting AI but warning AOC/Bernie will make AI regulations “for their benefit”.
Another loss for crypto and AI: Dem Josh Turek takes the Iowa Senate. Winklevosses’ DFF spent $700K to oppose Turek and support Ashley Hinson; conservative pro AI Alliance for the Better Future spent $171K on Hinson.

Something incredible to see is that so many of the winners tonight are black and brown people, are women, are progressive or democratic socialists. The mandate has been sent. Let’s hope democrats follow through and deliver real change for the working class
