It's a fairly average substack article.
It didn't mention the AI slop that's been creeping into the mix on Spotify.
It had a short history lesson that mentioned the past significance of giants like RCA/Philips/Sony, but skipped EMI/Columbia (the LP format, artists like Sinatra, Dylan, Beatles).
While I am indeed not a "normal" person, I vibe coded this app with one prompt and 19 followups for bugs or changes

@adam As I'm listening to DSC and thinking about how far your vibe coding skills have gotten better over the last year it makes me think about where we will be in 20 years with podcasting technology. It's exciting.

None of the concepts here are super advanced, it's relatively basic physics, statistics, and programming. It's the clever combination of them that makes this so powerful.
At least we still have The Wikipedia. Isn't it strange how the wikipedia is the backbone of so much of modern information infrastructure? The very qualities that make it useful are those for profit businesses wish they could exploit and mine for a one-time bonanza of profit.
And we just cross our fingers and hope goodwill will protect the Library of Alexandria.

I just need a better app to do it. I know kwix is not getting it all.
Do you think this is legit? It certainly sounds plausible, but
a) is it really posssible
b) Given the sound quality/ambient noise of most videos, how often is it going to work even if possible?
@brembs sounds plausible in theory, no idea in practice...
@frosty you can really feel them buying time, reusing animation, filling in plots or scenes irrelevant to moving the story forward. I fully understand the people who quit when it was live airing. Whole months with barely moving the real plot forward. I think I read this was the peak of them stretching manga chapters. Though my work friend seems to hate WCI I'm looking forward to it because I know I'll love Carrot (I've avoided spoilers but still accidently know she exists somehow 😏)
@kamiten In the current saga, the animators are now taking quarterly hiatuses to let the story build up some headroom, which does alleviate that problem a bit.
And Carrot's a fun character. 😊 🐇

@glynmoody Modern software is not so efficient so we need lots of RAM. I only got 16GB in my new PC as it was so expensive and I could use more. There's a gold rush for AI that is messing things up and a lot of these companies will crash. The current trajectory is not sustainable.

@glynmoody One summer I visited a beach on Fårö where Ingmar Bergman filmed that scene with the chess-playing devil and the knight. It is a shale beach, and it makes the same kind of sounds when you walk on it. Magic!
