@tazgetroete

@sofasophia We launched the full website earlier today, it explains quite a bit now!

Early access will be rolling out before the public launch in 2027, the first batch of invites will be sent in the next few weeks.

I know we're not supposed to judge people on appearances, but there's a guy at my gym who just has the face of someone who fucking loves cocaine and beating his wife and his kids. I obviously can't prove the theory though.

@slothrop this is a happy thought but this is a slopped up crypto rag, based on tweets from other crypto rags

do we have more solid sourcing? I mean I'd love to believe it

YouTube tutorials mostly. I did refer to the Blender manual the other day though!

@futzle I recently committed to delivering a U3A course next year that I'm describing as a "hands-off" history/guide to technology. But I should definitely devote a week to "things you should try before installing an app and/or subscribing to a service".

Both fediverse softwares that support user reviews for books, both have RSS support natively (no Piefed/Misskey bridge needed), and some comments also seem discontent with Amazon's mismanagement overall.

Waiting for election day.

@dansup

Oh, is it already up and running? I’ve signed up, but I can see it says ‘2027’ and I don’t understand how and where I can send messages to whom.

I think, the website isn’t really self-explanatory. 🫣

A TTC streetcar *looks* big, but its total space footprint in traffic replaces just 5 stopped cars or ~2 moving ones. A street car can be nearly empty and still be more efficient than cars.

@urlyman there was a story I read years ago (unfortunately with the current state of search engines I don't expect to be able to find the source) about some researcher who was tasked by the Tories to find the most efficient way to shrink the cost of the NHS. After doing his research he delivered his results: make it possible to walk/cycle to work as much as possible.

Anyway, my point is not all of the reversals in "progress" (or in national wealth) need to be reversals in quality of life

@urlyman there are lots of prevention (much much cheaper than treatment) that aren't done because they get in the way of the wage slave lifestyle.

Get rid of "an hour and a half commute, Costa in the car, a sandwich (with two grams of salt) in the desk, eight hours sitting, five days a week" and a lot of health issues (both physical and mental) go away. But maybe number doesn't go up as fast then.
