to be clear for an existing community there are exactly 2 options:

1. you convince them to ban the slop

2. you create a new splinter community that bans slop

there is no coexistence with sloppers in the same community because they will drown out all the non-slop until all you've got left is slop

and frankly with how little backbone is being displayed by community leaders and how many of them are embracing the slop, #1 is probably a losing battle

A hard ban on LLM/"AI" use in a FLOSS project is the moderate stance. I am not a moderate person.

Giving space to these machines is throwing the millions of people whose work they stole, the millions of people who suffer under their crawlers' assault under the bus.

We do not throw each other under the bus in a civil society. I hope you understand this to be the bare minimum.

🚨 HALEY STEVENS SETS RECORD STRAIGHT!

After raising eyebrows with her shocking political endorsement, Haley Stevens sits down to clear the air.

Or does she? 🤣

Ripped from the headlines!

Fictional AI-generated political satire.

sigh

Earlier this week, we had to pay a large sum of money, because there's leakage in the apartment complex we live in, and it needs to be fixed ASAP. Initially, we wanted to pay it in monthly installments, but none of the banks were willing to allow that, so full price up front it had to be.

That puts is in a pretty bad financial position, because this was our entire savings, the savings that were meant to last until early December1, and now our account is almost empty, and we have bills to pay.

I have some income, but not nearly enough to sustain us. While I'm trying to find a way to bridge the gap, I don't think I'll be able to do so on my own, so here I am, asking for #MutualAid (links in footnotes2 below). I'm also open for short-term contract work (contact me3 for resume & more information).

Any and all help is most appreciated to get us through the next few months, every little bit helps, as does boosting this plea.

Thank you!

@keefmarshall
I've looked at the repos for maybe 20 firmwares. Most are either vibecoded or have vibecoded dependencies.

I'm not gonna buy this object, sadly.
@alisynthesis

@ben @flockofnazguls oh DAMN the 1990 IT is a vibe.

@davidgerard Die Krupps? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OO27v6YStk

@limebar @flockofnazguls it's funny how a time changes reinforces how arbitrary everything is and sends us all into a minor tailspin every single time.

Or...maybe it isn't really funny

Hello Fedi. Some new tracks coming soon.

@danfairs did you have a phone call with @NoRestfortheWicked ? 😅

https://metalhead.club/@NoRestfortheWicked/117546950475894718

@cabel I can answer that one precisely: ten seconds is too long; five seconds is too short. The correct duration is 8 seconds, as we learned from TiVo. So I’m precisely 80% satisfied.

I might be wrong -- she might be just a flash in the pan. But the system dynamics are set up to put focus on these kinds of shenanigans. She might be able to ride it out.

@tobi 😬

In this episode Subcommander T'Pol travels through time however could have solved everything if there was any continuity in the series.

i got blocked on bsky once for saying i liked Metal Machine Music and Stock Aitken Waterman

which, not unfair

@flockofnazguls my damn movie was only an hour and a half long, so it ended at 8:30! I did manage to force some Sunday night cleaning/straightening, so I made it until 9:30. Good enough, I say!

@ozzelot @alisynthesis

Hmm.. that's disappointing - I thought it was mostly just DEXT.

@tmw hmmm
